Has anyone had or seen anything about white patches under the skin, on the sides of the throat?

Blood tests show no sign of infection. It's not strep.

I had one for a long time. Now I just noticed it looks like a bunch more.

Anyone have any idea what causes this??

Thanks Dana,

I had the culture, it was negative.

I've also had strep in the past and it doesn't feel the same.

My throat was really raw & sore when I had it.
Now my glands are a little swollen, but no raw sore throat.

I would still make an appointment & have it checked out just to be on the safe side. [Smile]

Not a doctor or anything but it could also be yeast.

Not pushing the step throat thing... but wanted you to know that if you where taking abx at the time of the culture it can scew the test results.

make sure to talk over evrything first with your LLMD

Thanks again, Dana [Big Grin]

I was just at 1st LLMD visit Thursday and will talk to him in about 10 days. I forgot to mention it then & I don't want to start being a pest.

I'll have to write it down, so I don't forget to ask him. When he looked at my throat, he didn't say anything.

After examining me and asking questions, he told me that I "absolutely, without question, still have Lyme". He needs to do more tests to see if I still have active Babs, but said "it's highly likely".

I'm only on 100mg Doxy bid, not really a high dose.

I think yeast is kind of fuzzy and attached to outside of skin and strep is sort of like pustules?? I've had them both at various points in my life.

These patches are actually flat and sort of elongated. The one that I said I've had for quite some time, I've pointed out to PCP, during previous bouts of illness, and I was told "it's nothing".

I guess I'm wondering now, since there are more of them after starting Doxy, if they actually are something related to TBDs. (my PCP is not very LL)

I thought maybe they could be a sign of something since my blood tests showed no sign of infection.

They're just really strange and I don't like when PCP says "Oh that's nothing". Without saying what it is.

I really appreciate you trying to be so helpful.
I will talk to LLMD about it, when he calls with results of tests.

Thanks again!! [Smile]

Ali
