Hi guys,
I have a weird situation/question (like there's any other kind). [Roll Eyes]

I had a picc line on the inside of my left upper arm about 6 years ago. When it was inserted it was laying on a nerve and was very uncomfortable for the entire time I had it, 6 months maybe. It was one of those garden hose sized ones and kind of on the side of my bicep muscle.

Very occassionally, that spot hurts, or is slightly sensitive, but genereally passes in a short time.

It's been really hurting badly for 2 days. Ok, I may be herxing a bit but why would this hurt so much so many years later? It feels sensitive and is very painful if my arm touches my body, for instance.

Any ideas how to make this stop or about what it is and why it's happening? Is there any reason I should be worried? So far ice didn't help and neither did a piece of lidocaine patch.

TIA,
trueblue

(sorry to be a pest, asking silly questions, but this has me baffled and is making more of my arm hurt, enough other stuff hurts without this)

Hey Blue, check with your doc. It could be the Bb has found a weak area to attack or the Bb is aggravating the nerve so it's become symptomatic. I doubt it's a clot but check with the doc to make sure.

Thanks NP,
I'm guessing it's a nerve thing and a lot of old injuries have been hurting for a while but I'll check with the doc if it changes or isn't better by morning.

In the little while since I wrote the above I'm getting something similar in my left thigh where I've had a recurring nerve problem before... femoral, I think.

(Oh and a few other places now that I think about it. This may just be the advance team leading the way.) [Roll Eyes]

Uh, well seems it was the start of a big neuro flare thingy.

Most of my muscles, the bones in my head and straight down my spine, and everything else hurts and feels like they need to be shaken to get the sensations out of them. (Except the head shaking that would be a bad bad idea)

Wrists curling from the muscles in my arms. kind of Jerky movements, figdeting constantly (ha more than usual) to get some of the achy, humming, painful, sensitivity and weirdness to stop. (That doesn't really work by the way.)

Can I take Advil? or something that will take the edge off? I'm really not feeling so great.

I'm really sorry to be whining; I realize my problems are trivial compared to many.
