I have been taking this drug for a few months, and was wondering what people thought?

Seeing no one else steped in here on this one. I have started omnicef about 10 days ago. One of the reasons for switching to this med is that I have been on Zith, doxy, malarone, cipro for a number of long runs and can't handle the build up of the drugs in my system anymore.
For me so far the toxic side effects are at a minimum. But I also have had some herxing from the omnicef so I feel that it is working right now. Many use another ABX in combination with omnicef and I will be adding something soon. I do know this much, omnicef does have a smaller molecule and can have the potential to have some blood brain penitration even thou there are not many studies on this. For me it did start to clear some of the fog on the left side of my head.

I've been on it a few months too. I may have had a respiratory herx on it, had a cough for 2 months. My LLMD thinks Omnicef may have been the cause.
But it was Flagyl and then Zith, that I took with it, that really caused the herxes.

I was on Omnicef for several months as my only antibiotic. My LLMD and I decided on it because it is generally well-tolerated, and we needed something fairly gentle for me because this was my first antibiotic after having to go off antibiotics due to liver issues.
I tolerated it well, it helped me gain some ground that I had lost during the five months I had been off antibiotics. But then I hit a plateau (probably due to coinfections)and switched.

I'm on Omnicef and Ketek, so it's hard to determine exactly which one is doing what.
My fatigue is greatly improved and I am generally able to do much more than I previously could, which wasn't a whole lot! My cognitive functioning also seems to be slightly improved.
These are my first abx and I've been on them since April, when I was dx'd after more than 40 years of Lyme.
