Hi everyone,

sorry if this is long,

I devoloped severe nerve pain back in march of 2005,i have many other symtoms but this is byfar the worst.

I went 6 months of major symtoms before being diagnoised, ten months from tick bite. It is the type of nerve pain were you feel like acid is running through you,OR A BURNING NERVE PAIN and is very hard to deal with,It came on with many of my babs symtoms.

anyway i have been diagnoised with lyme, babs, bart, rickettsia,IV rochephin brought the pain down and Itwas on the verge of dissapearing with flagyl and zith combo. Doxy also helped somewhat but havent been on it long, Now that i am treating my babs with mepron/ zith and art, it is horrible, especially about three hours after i take my art,and zith but the mepron doesnt make it any worse.

I AM TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT INFECTION IS CAUSEING THIS, CAN BABS CAUSE NERVE PAIN OR IS IT MORE LIKELY TO BE THE BART AND LYME.

Ambien and valium help the pain tremendously so my guess is my nervous sytem is being overstimulated, any thoughts here.

I have burning, sparking, crawling nerves all over my body. I know nerve pain can be caused by the lyme bacteria. Don't know about co-infections.

Babs is a killer for me. I also experience burning, shooting nerve pain. I am in my third month of babs treatment and these symptoms have increased. I think it is one long herx. Good luck.

Yes I have nerve pain that feels like I was in a major fire. My scalp, neck back and spine burn continuously and when I am off antibiotics it is severely worse. It has brought me to the brink of insanity at times because I don't know if it is the bacteria or toxins produced by the bacteria that are causing it. No one has given me an answer, even my LLMD and all they can do is give you another medication to try which I have yet to do. The more medications you take, the less you will know what is causing what symptom because all medicines have side effects. You are not alone in this torture but don't give up!

I have had nerve pain for about 10 months now and I completely understand how frustrating and difficult to deal with it is. In fact, it's hard for me to even use the word "pain" because it is not like normal pain that you can get.

I have learned that it can be caused by lyme and that with time, treatment can help. I have also learned, though, that sometimes nerves can become permanently damaged and may never fully recover.

It sounds like you made some substantial progress when taking flagyl and zith so it sounds to me like there is a lot of hope for you that this will get better.

I think bart can also cause nerve pain but I am not sure how to figure out which of the tick diseases is causing the problem until you actually go through treatment for them and the symptoms hopefully resolve.

I'm not sure what infection (if it's that) is causing the nerve pain but I definitely had that. What helped me was B12 injections and Mg supplementation more that any pain pills. Hope you find some relief.
