My nightwares are very frequent and are getting annoying.
So much so that it robs me from getting a deep sleep. Anyone struggling with this one?

YES, YES, YES!
I am not taking this medicine any longer. Too much sleep lost, nightmares, and the plaq gave me other things to be concerned about, like weird head pains...
Back to Tetra until I see new LLMD!
First time in my life this happend, oh well!

I had really bizarre dreams on Biaxin. Sometimes they were like my own action movie, lots of guns in those dreams. I kind of got used to it. Hmm... Hang in there!

Have you had a sleep study done to see if you have sleep APNEA, where you stop breathing at night when sleeping? I have it...someone suggested itto me; they were right.
MD said we all have nightmares & it records the activity on the printouts. Also showed I get ZERO delta 4, where the body rejuvenates & heals itself.

I have weird dreams on Biaxin - not exactly nightmares, just strange.
My LLMD told me that it was a sign that the med was working - getting the "crap" out of the brain. Sometimes I wake up wondering just where in the work that came from! I have had dreams about people way, way back in my past, to the lady that checks me out at the local grocery. Just weird.

After telling my doc that I did not react well to biaxin... one of the first things she mentioned without me saying it ... was did I have nightmares. It must be a known side effect.

I, too, have found that Biaxin gives me nightmares. That, and it agitates me and gives me insomnia. For a long time I was on Plaq and erythromycin, when I didn't have health insurance. The day I switched over to Biaxin - complete insomniac plus weird dreams.
I thought that was strange since eryth is in the same family. The difference was astounding. According to my LLMD, Biaxin agitates many people.
I do not have this reaction to zithromax which, I believe, can be used interchangabley with Biaxin (I am not sure about this, but mmy docs seem to do this when the Biaxin is too much for me to handle).
Maybe run by your doctor the possibiliity of taking plaq and zith instead of the plaq and biaxin?
Just my experience. It may not apply to others. I hope the nightmares get better.
The other day, when I was still on the Biaxin and plaq, I slept over my friend's house. I awoke him in the middle of the night with crying and tossing and turning and yelling in my sleep. Apparently this went on pretty much the whole night. I am glad to be off of it. Although I do think it helps me a lot in the long run (but not more than the zith which doesn't cause this).

I'm on my 2nd 6 month round of Plaquenil & Biaxin. The key for me is to never lie down flat. Since the day I went on it I sleep propped up on pillows. If I am flat for even a few seconds I don't feel right and have strange thoughts.
When I travel I take 2 pillows with me. I like a feather pillow for the bottom one so I can shape it into a gradual wedge.
It is strange how I just knew to do this as soon as I started Biaxin.
I do wake up around 4:30 every morning, sometimes burning up. Eventually I fall back asleep. If I stay up really late (3:00) I sleep right through until 8 and feel more rested. hats hats

Another key that I found found in the past, in addition to not lying flar (as hats-n-scarves said), is to make sure you are not laying on your back.
Sometimes laying on your side and even with your head faced downward (like into the pillow - good luck with that one) helps.
I found back when I was having the nightime seizures that lying on my belly somehow almost stopped them. It feels to me to be a similar mechanism with the nightmares.
Good point hats-n-scarves. I had forgotten that one!
