I constantly have digestive problems and stmoach bloating as well and just feel like my body is eating itself alive....I also have a lotta pain everywhere lymph nodes joints headaches and pain in my kidneys, red flushed mouth and throat and almost have an allergic reaction when I eat -build up a lot of mucous and get a very rapid heart beat...am I crazy or dead?

My dear neardeath,

You're not dead...obviously...unless your spirit is typing...
However I understand...you probably feel that way.

Lots of lymies get food or medication "allergies"

Unfortunately...I never did...I just got fatter...LOL

Some lymies go the other way and become anorexic...

I do get the sweats after every meal...none of the ducks or the llmd's know why!

Bloating also...
I used to get red in the face....

I also used to get very hot legs and feet...typical of lyme infection...neuropathy...

Are you eating a lot of starch food or carbs like spaghetti, potatoes, soda pop?

If so you may want to limit your carb intake...these turn to sugar...so no sugar either.

This may help your symptoms a bit.

with treatments some of these have gone away....

When were you diagnosed...what are you taking...???

Don't worry though...you're not dieing...zman

may also look into systemic lupus.
red butterfly under eyes is dx of systemic
lupus.

doc should run ana, and lupus ab test, but like lyme most tests will be negative.

have you been dx with lyme by a llmd???
are you on any meds????

I have been and am going through the same thing now. If I eat the wrong thing my face gets red, my entire body turns a light red like a sunburn, my legs and feet burn , back burns, face burns. I can turn splotchey.

About 10 days ago I took some cipro for the first time and fried my nervous sytem with a major herx. I thought at first a med reaction, until I saw that just drinking water turned my body the same reddish , purpley splotchey color.

Your gut has TONS of nerves. If they are fried at the moment it shows up on your skin and with burning. When I first got sick everything I ate did this to me. After a few months of amoxy it mostly went away. I do not think I had food allergies, just a soooper dooper hyped up overly sensitive Lyme fried nervous system.

I have been on bicillin for the last 18 months and only when herxing have I had this problem. But this last bout of herxing with the cipro is the worst I have had with this since I relapsed 6 years ago. I have dropped nearly 6 pounds in the last week because of this burning/eating problem.

But I am getting over it, today I could eat oatmeal and not burn or turn splotchey red.

Here are some of the things I can eat with no problems. Meats, hamburger, chicken, pork all unseasoned. Eggs, applesauce, veggies, potatoes only as french fries not baked, weird and yogurt . And today oatmeal! and water is no longer a problem nor is applejuice.

Yeast makes this much worse. If I cheated with too many carbs I would burn, that was my yeast gauge. On the diet I am now, I no longer am bloated like a basketball or BRaaaaPing (belching) around the house like a drunken sailor.

Stick out your tongue and look at the very tip. Is it a bright cherry red? Like its burnt? I use mine to guage how irritated my nerves are for the day. My tongue has gradually been turning back to a normal pink, just the tip is now angry red. Hopefully in a few days I will be back to "normal".

Hope this is a help for you. Good luck
