This will probably sound like a stupid question. I finally went to a infectious disease specialist - I live in Indiana where there are no lyme doctors and I am awaiting test results. But, I have a spot on my leg which has been there for 5 months and been having symptoms which continue to get worse. If there was a tick bite, did the tick embed in my leg, is it still there or what happenened to it?

It is my understanding that the tick generally feeds for 2 days then drops off. I am reading a book on lyme disease that explains the life cycle of the tick and the relationship with the hosts. Even the roll the whole ecosystem plays! The title is "lyme disease" it is a book in the young adult section of our public library. Perhaps that's why I can understand everything! lol
