I am wondering if this is a quirk or do they
actually know that the Bb react as positive to the
quick flu tests. I had 2 of these in the year I
originally got sick and did not get well. How
many have had a positive flu test that went on to
develop Borrelia infection. Meaning is it
possible that they know it reacts and will show
positive or has it never been tested? I have
looked over the kits available online and checked
the cross reaction lists. Those they know do not
cross react are listed. Borrelia is not on these
lists. Curious.

I never heard of a test for flu. Why would they need one? Sorry if I'm being dense!

I had a influenza quick test done this past winter and it was negative.
From what i've been told, the test is pretty specific. It can even tell the difference between type A and type B influenza. That was especially important this year because most strains were resistant to Tamiflu.

Tracy9 that helps but I would feel better if they
would list Bb as known to not cross react. Could be
test is now better, still they should list this if
the patients are experiencing flu like initial
symptoms and patients are increasingly getting ill.
