Has anybody taken the Nature's Way probiotics "Primadophilus Optima"? They claim it contains 35 Billion CFU and 14 strains and that it is enteric coated and that it needs refrigeration.

How would it compare to the Theralac or to the Primadophilus reuteri?

Thanks

Nelly

I am replying to myself (didn't get any replies on my initial post). Could people reply even if they haven't taken it and/or know anything about this product. It seems very potent and way cheaper than Theralac.

Is it in fcat Nature's Way response to Theralac. I have no idea whether this is a relatively new product or whether it's been around for a while. I can't find any references to it in any of the past threads here.

I want to order probiotics while my husband is in the US so he can bring them back with him, so I need to decide which ones to order

Thanks to anybody who can help in any way

Hi Nelly.

No I haven't used this product, but I have been using their Rueteri for a long time and like it. I noticed that this one doesn't have the Rueteri bacteria in it. Rueteri is good because it is a human strain. A lot of the probiotics are from animals, and were not meant to be part of the human gut ecology.

I have been looking at other makes of probiotics like Pharmax because all their bacteria are human strains, and they have sticking power instead of just passing through the system. I haven't tried them yet tho, so I can't really recommend them yet.

I have been testing my probiotics lately and have found some of the makes to be dead, like Culterelle and PB-8, and Custom Probiotics. So I am looking for the best ones myself. I am even going to try Theralac even tho they are out of my price range just to see if there is a difference.

If you have had good luck with Rueteri, I would just stick with it. 16 different strains of bacteria in one capsule may not be better, or even as good.

You're only a failure when you stop trying.

I use theralc and like it. I also make my own kefir.
You can have someone mail you the grains and you can make your own at home .... then you know it is alive.

Thanks to the people who replied but I am even more puzzled now. It looks like nobody is using this probiotic formula by Nature's Way (Primadophilus optima) in spite of the fact that they claim it has a very high number of CFU (35 billions) way above the others and they are cheaper than Theralac.

My question is: what is the catch with this product? Why hasn't anybody tried it? We, Lymies, seem to collectively know EVERYTHING there is to know about probiotics so why have I seen nothing re this one? Is it new?
