Has anyone had there insurance pay for this test.

Mine said it was not medically necessary and Im going to appeal.

Anyone have any advice on a letter to write to win this appeal.

thanks

I have had it paid on some occasions and not on others if I recall. Sadly, I don't recall ever winning an appeal. The test itself is valid. However, Genova does lots of genetic stuff and functional testing and so you will likely find that insurance companies have blanket statements that say that Genova is not covered. Aetna has a huge write-up essentially saying everything they offer is not covered.

I haven't done Genova tests yet, but used to do a slew of Great Smokies tests (I believe Genova bought out Great Smokies) and they were never covered by insurance.

Can't I'll look tomorrow when I have light; hubby is sleeping right now.

I do NOT think they did and I have to appeal as soon as they send me the DENIAL benefit claims. I sent 3/4s of them in 4-06; STILL NOTHING IN WRTING DENYING ME!

Made 2 dozen phone calls; got VP of BCBS involved now almost 3 months now, and still do NOT have the denial statements!

Have around $5600 to appeal; gesh. big uffda.

If you are looking for parasites, why not have a vet look at a "sample"?

I pd. $594.00; BCBS will NOT pay! haven't received their denial letter w/details yet. Sent them another reminder as I was promised they'd send all by last Friday.

They've had 60-70% of my bills to be reimbursed for SIX MONTHS! very disgusted Bettyg [cussing]
