Buhner cautions that some of the herbs in his protocol must be stopped several days before surgery as they are blood thinners. Does anyone know whether this would also apply to having a PICC line installed?
If so, wouldn't this mean that as long as you have a PICC line you can't do the Buhner protocol? Or would this apply only to the actual installation procedure?

I'm not familiar with Buhner's protocols or supplements, but when our daughter had her PICC inserted, she was told to stop taking anything that might thin her blood a week prior to the insertion.
She has returned to taking all of her supplements since the line has been in (June 2006).

Stopping supplements would only apply to the actual surgery. Probably would not be a problem even if you did not stop -- hubby stopped his Heparin but continued on all his supplements (I forgot to tell him to stop).
There is no problem with doing Buhner's herbs while having a PICC line in. Just be aware of whether any meds and supplements you take thin the blood. For many Lyme patients it would be difficult to take enough herbs to thin the blood enough for this to be a problem.
