Had to write about this one. For 6 or so months now i have this off and on throat tightening sensation. Like pressure around it. Sounds weird i know and have never heard it associated w/ lyme. Perhaps it is just a symptom of my chronic anxiety (which i dont even know is a symptom of lyme or not). Anxiety is one of my big symptoms and i dont hear about it much here so i figure its a seperate health issue for me. Anyone have a weird throat? LOL Or once in a blue mean have slightly labored swallowing?

yes, I have swallowing issues from time to time. for me related to muscle weakness.
BUT, I think it's important it be checked out, and not blamed on anxiety. Especially important to rule out allergy to something. Allergies can develop over time, and could be dangerous.

Lyme has caused swallowing issues with a lot of people you can choke on your own saliva. As for the tightning throat could be lyme nerve thing take magnesium, also it could be a parasital infection causeing wheezing protozoan like babiosis causes histamine increase try a antihistamine.

lymesucks,
I get this... do you also mean the type of thing where it feels like your throat/neck and tightened from the outside, too? Hard to explain almost like the front of my neck is sucked in from the collarbone going up.
I looked in the mirror one day and it looked that way, too. Very weird! I did see it explained somewhere once and now can't remember where, but I thought, oh, that makes sense!
Sorry to be no help at all but to say, "yeah, me too!"

I have swallowing issues. In fact, it is the only test that my new gastro doc wants to repeat out of the dozens of CT scans, MRIs, colonoscopies, endoscopies, etc. I have had.
Food and pills get stuck in my throat often. I choke on my saliva sometimes. Sometimes GERD can cause swallowing problems. I have muscle weakness of unknown origin...some docs have theorized that I have a lazy digestive system starting with the esophagus.
Swallowing problems can be a number of things. If it continues and you feel like it gets worse or never lets up, I would definitely get it checked. I do know that Lymies can have swallowing issues though.

p.s. I also have pain on the left side of my throat that no one can figure out. It happens when I swallow. I don't know if you would call it tightening though.
