Ok.... those who may remember me will recall I have posted a lot about my candida problems. I finally decided to buckle down and start taking high quality probiotics.

I've been "managing" my symptoms by regulating diet -- but I KNOW that I need something else because it simply sucks to keep living life this way. The fatigue, fog, itching, body acne and inability to eat "normal" are just too much to live with.

Anyway..... since starting on one capsule twice a day of the Theralac it seems symptoms are intensifying significantly. Some symptoms that I haven't seen for nearly a year even...... one being eyes burning and feeling highly irritated in general..... Like I have bad allergies or something.

I assume this is just more herxing as I experienced in the past with other lyme and yeast treatments I underwent. Good sign right??!!!

Anyone else have experience to share about Theralac? It seems like it's the real deal and works as advertised. I just hope AND PRAY that this will heal me..... so tired of living like this.

If it is like allergies, there is the possibility you are having an allergic reaction. You might want to check in with your LLMD.

Hopefully you are just replenishing much needed flora.

I take it and have been for 8 months.

I can't say that my eye problems are from theralac because I had them before starting this

I will say with all the abx and anti malaria meds I have been on, I have only had one yeast infection.

My own fault for forgeting to take the theralac in the beginning.

I too, would buy stock in the company, It is worth every penny (dollar, etc) spent on it.

Give it a little time

well I DO think it's working ...... 'cause to me these are classic herx symptoms..... so I'm glad in ways to see this..... but I hope that after a week or two I start to improve in how I'm feeling.....

it's almost 4 long years since I learned about my lyme..... 2+ of those years have been spent dealing with candida.

I take theralac and I didn't notice anything when starting it but my tests indicated that I had plenty of good bacteria before I started. I'm take it because I want to keep it that way now that I'm on abx.

Anyway, one can experience a detox reaction from probiotics. You can also get die off from yeast and bad flora as your intestinal flora are re-balanced in favor of the good flora. If it becomes too uncomfortable, slow down or use things to help your body detox.

Hi,

Threelac has yeast in it, some are sensitive to this yeast, others are not. I read on the internet years ago that it had the strain of yeast called...

saccharomyces cerevisiae in it. If you are sensitive to this yeast, be careful with it.

Call the company where you bought it and check to see what the name of the yeast is in it, sometimes the internet may be wrong,

Trish

Well, I threw up repeatedly from one Theralac (sorry to be gross). I've never had that reaction with other probiotics.

My LLMD doesn't know if it's an allergic reaction.

I'm thinking because it has strains that my current probiotic don't, I probably had a massive die-off of some particular candida strain.

I haven't had a candida issue with Lyme until now - something is going on because now I have brain fog. So it's either candida or leaky gut or both.

So if and when I try Theralac again, I am going to see if I can dump out most of the capsule and try a teeny dose.

This is a repost as I can't believe that NOBODY here has tried this particular probiotic: Nature's Way "Primadophilus Optima"?

Is it in fcat Nature's Way response to Theralac.
Does anybody know if it is new (and that's why nobody has tried it) or is it old and people don't like it. It is supposed to be nearly X2 as potent as Theralac and it doesn't have yeast, and I am sensitive to yeast (can't tolerate S. boulardi for eg.)

I need to decide fast whether to order it or not

Nelly

Has anybody taken the Nature's Way probiotics "Primadophilus Optima"? They claim it contains 35 Billion CFU and 14 strains and that it is enteric coated and that it needs refrigeration.

How would it compare to the Theralac or to the Primadophilus reuteri?

Thanks

Nelly

I am replying to myself (didn't get any replies on my initial post). Could people reply even if they haven't taken it and/or know anything about this product. It seems very potent and way cheaper than Theralac.

http://www.nextag.com/Nature-s-Way-Nature-509026582/prices-html

Is it in fcat Nature's Way response to Theralac. I have no idea whether this is a relatively new product or whether it's been around for a while. I can't find any references to it in any of the past threads here.

I want to order probiotics while my husband is in the US so he can bring them back with him, so I need to decide which ones to order

Thanks to anybody who can help in any way

Nelly (in France)

I was told by a MD several years ago, that
Diflucan would heal my leaky gut if I had one.

I cannot recall her exact words, but she said that diflucan would go into the gut and heal the holes that the fungus had caused.

I had been on nystatin when I saw her, and she said that nystatin was very good, but sometimes people needed diflucan because diflucan went into the gut wall, penetrated it and healed

the tiny holes from leaky gut. Something like this.

I was given 50mgs of diflucan a day for 1 week and was to see her because she said Diflucan could cause a lot of dieoff of candida for some.

Well, I had to stop it on the 6th day because of severe candida dieoff, my breathing became so severe and the MCS was so severe, I near collapsed.

took about month to clear this dieoff.

I now know this as a good thing, but the ND I was seeing said it was not a good thing, I have left that ND years ago,

I am to do the diflucan again, but at a different
approach so I can handle the dieoff.

I now see that possibly the candida could be causing some MCS, or maybe the candida is worse because lyme and other tick infections are lowering immune, not sure.

SO, back ot three lac, and leaky gut.
Sorry, went off track a bit but thought someone may find this helpful.

Trish

Hi Guys,

I just got my Threelac today, and my colosan as well. I will try these and see what happens!
Brog, yes, the fatigue sucks bigtime! We all need to make that extra effort to eating healthy, try to find some edges on good foods, and eat them, so we dont cheat!

Everytime we cheat, it is a major setback, I know! Look around for food idea's, follow them, and dont give in!

Threelac is different than Theralac. I have a bottle of theralac in front of me and I don't see any yeast listed on the label but tutu would know more about whether this product has yeast in it.

correct me if i'm wrong, but did you say you're taking two a day?? two???

on my instructions even for the immediate high power dose, it's only one a day for 30 days.

hmmm, maybe two a day is just too much for you.

also, on nizoral i had such a die-off i thought i was going to die or end up in the er. i couldn't breathe, coughing was terrible, headaches, and the pain in my lymph nodes was terrible.

i just ordered three bottles of theralac cause i can't take threelac. it caused mouth ulcers. but it has citric acid in it and some people are sensitive to that. sort of like eating grapefruit or tomatoes, they tear me up.

You may be allergic to something in the prodcut or coating of the pro-biotic. I would also agree to call your LLMD.

You can also call theralac & ask them for a more detailed explanation of like what's on their coating ect and other fillers in their caps...1800-926-2961

If the theralac doesn't work out ,you may want to try pro-biotic pearls from vitacost. I also think they work for me. They are also coated however to survive the stomach acid & do into the intestines where they do the most good.

Take care
Dana

ps. I noticed if I don't take my theralac with enough water it can burn my throat. Don't really know why. I now make sure to take it with at least 10 ox of water.

When I initially emailed the owner of Theralac, he did say that some Lyme patients need two to start, and then can go on the regular regimen of one a day.

Obviously, even the one was too much for me! But I know people swear by it, so I may just need to ramp up slowly.

well, yes I am taking two per day. the symptoms that I'm having are simply all too familiar so I'm not worried. it feels just like it always did in the past when I was hitting the yeast hard.

Some of this was recently discussed here. First, THERALAC does NOT contain yeast, but THREELAC does.

My LLMD suggests beginning with two Theralac a day and drop back to one a day after a month. The people at Theralac seem to think we can get by with taking it every other day, but I haven't found that to be true for me.

Hope this helps.

I did not do well with theralac. I had colon pain and other symptoms. I found out that it had some components in it that I might be sensitive to (they had renamed a common preservative, if I recall). The owner refunded me my $ which I appreciated.

I do well with customprobiotics.com. I rotate their products. They are high potency.

Yes too theralac having NO yeast

Yes to threelac having yeast.

I think I posted the differance, as I found within 2 or 3 doses of the threelac - I didn't like the way it made me feel.

So I went back and read up on it and sure enough it contains yeast - a good yeast as they call it.

Some here on this board can take it and talk good about it.

I can't and went to theralac myself.
