My huaband is very ill and I'm not sure where to send him. He had spinal fusion at L4, L5, L5 and s1 for two ruptured discs. First time he had the surgery 8/04, he started to feel better than got progressively worse.

May 2005, his doc detected he had no bone growth and did a second surgery 6/05. At that time, they discovered all screws in his back had routed out and were loose. Probable the bodies way of trying to get rid of the titanium screws.

Pain gets better than worse. July 06 he has metal removed and starts to feel better. Within a few months his pain gets worse again and back to sqaure one. His symptoms this time are low back pain, leg pain, hip pain and numbing in his right leg and foot.

Does anyone know what options he has or a doctor that could help him? We live in Colorado and you'd think there would be doctors here but we can't seem to find one.

Another problem is his Hepatitis C is very active again. Monday he'll have a liver biopsy to determine whats going on. He does have lyme and has had it for over 40 years. He's had some treatment but can not take abx until the liver is under control.

Does anyone have thoughts on what to do or where to seek help?

Thank you in advance.

Snowboarder,
I don;t know anyhting about the other questions and just hope you do find some help.

As for the Hep C, I have that as well and know that you can have a very high viral load and still have no or minimal damage to the liver.

I don't know what the status of his liver is. Has he had a biopsy before or is this his first?

I was diagnosed with Hep C 8+ years ago because my LFTs went up to 900 and 1350. So they hospitalized me and tested all the heps and mono. Interestingly my viral load was 125,000. (that's a low viral load)

I hade a biopsy done soon after and it showed minimal enlargement and no damage to the liver. Since then my viral loads have varied from there to 2 million, which is high. Apparently viral load is like choloesterol, it varies so greatly from moment to moment.

Anyhoo, I had a second biopsy 6 years later and the liver was in the same condition as before. So, while I'm pretty careful what I take the Hep C doesn't seem to be attacking my liver.

I hope his situation is similar.

Good luck to him on the biopsy, Monday, and tell him to ask for pain meds first just in case. Some people have no problem at all but I vote for the drugs. Better to be happy and having a liver biopsy, to my mind. [Wink]

I hope it turns out alright.

A good Prolo Therapist can do wonders for the back. I had severe back problems and had two treatments of Prolo Therapy. From that time on, I have never had a back problem anymore.

Look it up on the internet if you are not familiar with it.

Detoxing heavy metals and chemicals is a must for anyone with problems such as that. It is part of the overall picture for literally everyone, without exception.

Take care.
