one probability for muscle cramping is the loss of magnesium.
so far as i read, borreliosis, alone, causes moderate to severe loss of magnesium.
i think bartonella may further contribute to magnesium deficit.
mineral chelators should only worsen most, if not all existing mineral deficits.
twitching and/or cramping are but two of myriad manifestations of a magnesium deficit, and, there are many other causes for these two manifestations, as well.
if i were doing dmsa, and had muscle cramping, after having taken this, i'd stop teh dmsa, take a multi-mineral supp. for 1-2 months with extra magnesium, and resume the dmsa at a later date.
check with your doc about what else to do after stopping the dmsa.

When you do chelation, you are supposed to have a protocol to put the good stuff back in! You get mercury..metals etc. out, but you need magnesium...etc put back in. When I did chelation years ago I always had a mineral drip IV afterwards full of the good stuff. Make sure you are supplementing correctly!!

i meant bartonellosis, not babesiosis that may contribute to a magnesium deficit, to whatever degree. sorry about that.
lyme borreliosis is supposed to be the prime culprit in a magnesium deficit, muscle twitching and cramping being two manifestations; there could be other causes for these as well.

I agree that the chelation may be pulling out minerals and mineral supplementation may be appropriate. When I did chelation IVs, they always gave me an IV like a Meyer's cocktail afterwards to replace minerals, etc.
