Hey friends,
3 months rocephin, then gall bladder out, then switched to claforanIV...over the course of the week on it--major increase in pain.

Huge pelvic, bladder, shooting legs, groin, hot hands and feet...new last night is muscle aches in legs/cramps and tremors...feel like I'm dying.

Should I stop the claforan or push through? My doc is calling me back but he's gonna ask me what I think and to be honest, I feel like I am toxic from the medicine...(but a small part of me wonders if it is a herx)

I'm supposd to be going away tomorrow but may have to cancel...so sad

Thanks in advance for sending me some hugs
Kim

If there is one thing I have learned from this illness it is "pace not race".

From every bad bout of herxing the body has to be able to clear all of the die off and toxins from the meds.

I was lucky when I was on rocephine - I had the nearve, joints pains and so on but was never completely wipped out. Each month things became better.

Only you and your doc can judge if you can push through this.

Are you on any kind of pulse schedule with the new drug. Are you getting enough water and cleansing support?

Thanks john
My doc doesn't believe in pulsing so he may just want to switch.

I am a big water drinker. Mostly I wrestle with the questioni of is this a herx or serum sickness.

Cause it makes me feel so toxic.

I will wait to see what he says, just feel like I am alone with this monster of an illness.

Hi Human.

You poor darling. IV has NOT been kind to you.

That's a tough decision.

Since you've only been on Clarofan for a week, my non-medical inclination is that it's hitting some levels of infection not previously addressed. Making you feel like crap.

However, only YOU know if you should push on or try a different approach.

Are you getting blood work, liver panels, etc.? With your symptoms I would be asking for it RIGHT NOW before making a decision about whether to continue.

I know you've felt enormous improvement before during this lyme journey. Please don't despair. You're going to again. Cut yourself every manner of slack possible and just hunker down and rest and detox - don't try to force yourself to go on trips or be "OK" for everyone else.

Sending you gigantic hugs,

Michelle

Hard to understand why a herx would be so severe at month 12 in treatment...

Esp. with the new horrible pelvic pain...the good news is that I don't have gall bladder attacks anymore [Roll Eyes]

I don't like the 'horrible pelvic pain' thing either and would be getting it checked out via all available scans (CT, ultrasound, etc) to find out what's up.

Even going to the ER if necessary.

Do you have a temperature? If so I'd go to ER immediately to rule out some kind of infection or blockage.
