What to put on it? Hydorcortizone works, but....
My husband started his initial lyme treatment about two weeks ago. (Doxy 100mg X2)
For about a week he has had a rash, mostly on his face, that is blotchy and slightly itchy.
Some areas are raised and have clear ooze.
He is prone to allergies (the hay fever kind) and has sensitive facial skin during that time of year, with similar blotchy.
So far he has never had any MED allergies.
His questions:
1)What should he put on it?
2)Sound like herx?
I told him I would ask THE EXPERTS

Remember, Doxy will make anyone extremely sensitive to the sun, even those with darker skins, people who are usually able to be sun worshippers - anyone!
I am very fair skinned and got weird burns and rashes from Doxy, despite wearing high-SPF sunblock, hat, mittens, clothing with SPF in it, etc. Even driving the car burned my knuckles and the burns did not go away until long after being off Doxy.
My dad, who is very olive-skinned and never had to use sunblock in his life, burned terribly on Doxy - his ears, face, hands. He had to start wearing a hat and gloves whenever outside or in the car.
So in addition to trying to rule out an allergic reaction to Doxy, you need to consider that this might be a sun-sensitivity rash. If the rash tends to be only in areas that might be exposed to the sun, even briefly, it could be a clue about it being a sun rash.

Have you tried any natural salves. Something with chammomile, comfrey, calendula .............
You can get these in a natural foods store.
Also I have used a green tea compress on itchy rashes on my cat ........... works well.
