Everyone is different and will respond differently to the same medication. I just wanted to post this topic in the event that someone else goes down the same road that I went down.

Before finding my LLMD my duck dx'ed me with depression. He put me on a low dose of Zoloft which I handled okay. We gradually worked our way up in dosage because it wasn't doing the trick for me. (Imagine that) Well when I reached the 75 mg point my body rejected it.

It was a complete WORSENING of symtoms. I havn't felt that out of control before in my life. It was aweful! Panic attacks, severe depression and a feeling like I was going to die. I didn't care about anything, I just wanted the hurting to stop.

So if you are prescribed any antidepressant that makes you feel worse, call your doctor! This might seem like comon sense, but believe me, when you are in the 'dark place' comon sense goes out the window.

I don't know if the undiagonsed Lyme made things worse than normal, but my doc immediatly took me off zoloft and right to paxil.

Today I'm off paxil (bad side effects, but good on the depression) and taking Lexapro (virtually no side effects).

Hang in there ya'll.

good post; we all AREN'T THE SAME. what works on one of us, does NOT necessarily work on the other.

if you experience bad symptoms quickly, call your DOC PROMPTLY.

if they are gone, CALL E.R. at hospital talking to them. [Wink]

I think you have been on a dose that was TOO low to be effective to treat your depression
and your depression symptoms may be getting worse .

My doc would not allow me to go under 75 mg
and felt that was the minimal dose to help .

You could try going to a higher dose and seeing if you do not feel better , or you could switch meds and be sure to be on a therapeutic dose .
