Haven't tryed that one Scott. I use the capsaicin heat patches for pain relief for my back & it often get really hot & burns & leaves a red mark for days when I take the patch off. . I would be concerned about putting capsaicin up my nose.

I use the xylitol nasal spray > works great.

Scott,
I tried this in desperation before Lyme treatment for chronic sinus and migraine issues. It did nothing but sting!

There is a new nasal spray by Zicam called Nasal Comfort. It's better than the salines, it's a "hypertonic".

You can use it all the time because it is a natural solution. It's pricey, but it's WORTH IT! You can find it at any drug store.

I used to make my own saline sprays...not any more.

I don't make money off this suggestion, just a recommendation for a good product for sinus problems.

I haven't had a sinus infection since I started using it.

If my maxillary sinuses get blocked, I like using Mucinex, an otc -- guaifenisen.

It seems to break up the congestion by wettening the tissues.

Scott,
Have you read about the use of Serrapeptase for sinus problems?

Scott,
You can google for articles and lots of info.

Apparently the serrapeptase, a systemic enzyme like Wobenzym and Rechts Regulat, strips the biofilm, enabling the white blood cells to get to the sinus infection.
(Well, that's my interpretation, anyways.)

hey scott,
a guy at my local health food store highly recommended it. it burns like hell for a few seconds, but despite the pain, I got strangely addicted to it.

I feel like it might have been helping a bit
(with headaches and getting blood flow to the area) but now with this dry winter air I can't use it b/c it just burns way too much and ends up irritating me more.

so until the spring, I'll be using the xylitol spray (gudrun taught me how to make it - just saline, GSE, and xylitol!)

good luck, hope it works for you!!

I tried serrapeptase once. I think it was helpful, but I was taking many other things as well, which makes it difficult to know for sure how well it worked.

What is bio-film? Where does it come from? Is it limited to only the sinus cavaties?
