Strange Question since its 4 degrees here. But my feet get so hot at night I want to put ice packs on them. Isnt that strange.

That is very common!! I used to get burning feet!! WoW they burned!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I also got "hot psots" over time all ovre my body that would burn, like t his quarter sized h ot spot undder my left eye that was one of my last symptoms to go away!!!
They are all gone with tx!!! Best wishes, Sarah
p.s. It can also be entirely unrelated to Lyme but for me it was Lyme!!!

Yes - burning feet and hands!
Sometimes they are even hot to the touch, actually radiating heat. Sometimes they only feel hot to me, but not to anyone else.
Not sure which co-infection causes it - could be bartonella.

I get burning sensations all the time. Feet, legs, and arms too. It almost feels like someone put a lighter to my leg and lit it. I've had this since the start of my illness.

for me these Hot spots are more WARM than hot. they dont burn per se, but I get a warm feeling in a very isolated place. It used to be a palm size space on my left thigh, then moved to be the same thing on my right thigh and then more recently it has moved into my arches and feet, with returning back up to thighs.
I test pos for bart and babs. dont know which infection this is. It is NOT the same as the hurting feet that others talk about with bart.

My nine year old has had burning feet while being treated! I had never heard this before so I just filed her account of this away for future reference.
She said her feet were so hot and burny she had to take her shoes off at school...I think two or three times. This never happened before, just since she has been on abx.
Thanks for sharing this--common experience always makes me feel so much better!

This is a new symptom for me also. They are so hot at night, I go into the kitchen so I can stand on the ceramic floor, but I've thought about the ice thing as well. During the day they have a buzzing feeling, they also tire easily. I thought bart also, but since I tested negative I assumed it was the Lyme.

I thought my hot feet were part of menopause! So how hot are they? Well -- at night, with the heat turned down to 62, and the blankets up over my chin, I have to keep my feet sticking out from under the covers.
My feet are so hot that I wear sandles (Keene's) year round, unless there is snow on the ground, in which case I make the concession to boots.
This is from someone who used to have cold feet and wore wools socks even in summer.

My son was just diagnosed with Erythromyalgia. He is fourteen and has had burning hands and feet for probably six years.He does not have lyme, his sister did. In my son's case, it is not associated with any other medication or treatment. He started with very hot hands and feet. He would cry sometimes at night they would burn so much. We took him to our family doc, who had no idea what was happening. We never noticed any skin changes. He would lick his hands to cool them down. He always slept with his feet out and a fan on his feet. It wasn't until about two years ago, we started to notice a color change with the heat. I was lucky enough to get a picture. Also, his veins would dialate in his hands and feet when it happened. They would become bright red,only for a few seconds and then would fade away. This only started after about four years. He has been followed by a pediatric neurologist at the University of Maryland. If you google erythromyalgia, it states it is a very rare disorder. My son's neurologist feels it is just under diagnosed. I am at work and can't remember the medication he was started on. It has greatly improved his condition. He rarely has the hot feet and hands anymore. Good luck,this disorder is not known by a lot of doctors. Luckily, we found a neurologist who listened to us and took our information we had gathered. I am not sure if this is what anyone has. Just thought I would offer a possibility. Best of luck.

My feet are very hot to the point that it is 9 degrees here today in NJ and I wore open shoes and no sox.
At night I have to sleep with my feet out of the covers.

Ah yes, the dreaded "hotfoot"! A term I made up that is closely related to another term I made up, "Bartfoot".
I get this all the time. Also on my hands. I also have Bartonella and I'm beginning to think that this might be the cause. Pain in my hands and feet is my worst pain symptom, even though I finally tested negative for Bart after months of treatment.

I get warm sensation mostly in my left foot.
My legs get warm a lot too,...i can wear shorts outside in the cold and it doesnt bother me at all.

this caught my attention about hot feet... this really doesnt apply to this post, but my feet are actually the totally opposite all the time and very cold... they are so cold they are almost hot...

Make sure you rule out a fungal infection or yeast!
My feet use to get so hot but they swelled too.
What worked?
Soak in small tub of warm water with epsom salts dissolved and don't rinse off.
Use cotton socks and fungal spray or powder.
Change footwear at least twice a day to air out used pair.
Make sure you don't have any cardiac history coz' I think it is contraindicated in using epsom salts?

This is one of my last symptoms. I think it is lyme disease. I thought bart was more pain in the feet than a burning sensation.

Yes Yes Yes - I have also had the burning feet. Sometimes they also hurt when the covers were on them in bed.
It went away quickly with biaxin for me. Not a pleasant experience.
I believe mine was Lyme related as I've never been diagnosed with Bart.

Hi everyone,
I asked Dr. H today about my burning feet and he believes this is a lyme symptom. I was put on minocycline(sp?) to clear this symptom.
