Has anybody else taken (or are they taking) astragalus (membranaceus)?
I know Buhner says it's contradicted in late stage/chronic lyme, but I've been taking it again, and it's the _only_ thing that helps my fatigue, neck stiffness, and also signifigantly helps my mood and mental clarity.
It's been the only drug/herb so far that actually seems to help signifigantly. I've taken cat's claw (regular and samento), andrographis, and a little bit of japanese knotweed. Home-made age-refridgarated garlic 'stuff', and andrographis are the only thing's that have really given me a good degree of my life back.
I was tested for co-infections and my tests came back negative. I will get electronic testing done soon and see what happens. I know astragalus has potential theraputic value for co-infections, viruses, etc.
So right now I'm taking 200mg doxy 2x/day, and some other herbs and supplements, including the astragalus...
Anyway, thoughts anybody?

I've been taking it as part of an immune booster my LLMD put me on over 3 years ago. And I've been off abx for over 2 years now and have my life back. FWIW

Do you knnow if you're more a Th1 or Th2 'person' now?
It would make things easier..
Signe also used it: check my recent post Partial success story by Signe. She said:
"After about 8-9 months on the cp I introduced astragalus. I have just begun encapsulating Stephania this week and last week temporarily stopped andrographis."
Another option is muscle test, it will test 'no' if not necessary.
Buhner recommends astragalus for late stage lyme sufferers IF they are again bitten by a tick. I guess I saw that info in Planet thrive.
good luck in finding out! Selma

I have never taken Astragalus.
However I have bought a pound of the herb in powder form and plan to introduce it sometime this year. I MAY stop Andrographis WHEN I do introduce the Astragalus.
