I've been reading all I can about the herxeimer reaction and have a question.

I realize we all respond differently to everything and therefore, our herxes will all be different.

I have been put on ceftin and have only take it a couple of days, 2 approximately.

Already I have a terrible pain in my neck on both sides and the right side of my face hurts and my eyes are twitching.

Since we don't know exactly when I got lyme, I don't know how fast I could react to a medicine and herx. I thought herxes took weeks, about a month on medicine, or am I wrong here.

There is soooo much to learn and my brain just doesn't comprehend like it use to.

I would appreciate hearing from people who have herxed quickly and what their responses.

Thank you for your kindness.

I don't know what the medical establishment would say, but for me I have herxed within 24hours.

Hi randibear,

You are correct, herxing is diferent for everyone, I herxed within hours after taking meds. I think it depends on how toxic we are overall and how well the body can rid itself of toxins. Just my 2 cents.

I can feel the herx symptoms start within a couple of hours of taking many ABX or herbs. The following day will be even worse with the sick all over feeling .

When I first started on the meds, I didn't herx for 28 days. When my LLMD added new meds to the mix, I herxed immediately.

I think it not only varies from person-to-person, but also from medicine-to-medicine.

Subject title sounds like a race. I pictured all of us lined up at the starting line.We all take our meds at the same time-and we're off and running, or groaning, or throwing up, or falling, or moaning depending on how fast we herx.

anyone who crosses the finish line is a loser-no herx.

Carol
PS today I have an appointment with my LLMD about my recent SPECT Scan. If she suggests IV or Bicillin shots I want to start in the ER .I don't think I'm going to get very far before herxing.

On Babs meds I Herxed within an hour, on Doxy a few weeks, on IV Rocephin I had either a long long Herx that lasted for months or I was just getting bad bad bad without Herxing, still unsure... But on Babs meds I Herx within an hour-
and on Cipro very quickly as well actually, but a quick Herx and quick gains unlike Babs ,eds which were quick Herx slow gains... so it varies for me*)!
