No lumps noted. Just feels cystie (I know that is not a real word, but describes how it feels.)

No specific cysts noted.

I remember my Ob remarking on that last year during annual exam. Probably had Lyme at the time and didn't know it.

Negative mammogram.

Scheduled for next annual visit (which I do so look forward too .....NOT!!!!)

Just in case he mentions something about how my breasts feel cystie, I'd like some info from others who may experience this.

Thanks a lot in advance for any advice.

Hugs,

Geneal

Hi Geneal,

Actually, coffee drinking can make your breasts feel cystic (and be cystic).

So I have been told by a number of gynocologists, as I am a coffee drinker.

I believe it is related to the caffeine, so that black tea might have the same effect.

I do not know about lyme disease doing that, but in case you drink caffeinated beverages, that may have an impact!

take care and be well.

I used to drink a ton of caffeine..Coffee, and multiple cokes during the day.

Now, I am down to just my one cup of coffee in the morning. Can't seem to get rolling without it.

I have also lost about 11 pounds since Sept of last year. Probably due to low carb/low sugar diet and Lyme/co-infections.

Maybe that is why when I did a self exam last night, it just felt funny.

Haven't really thought about self exam in a while, but sometimes my breasts will hurt as part of a herx (usually following my flagyl) and breast pain was one of my initial lyme symptoms.

Thanks for the advice. That does ring a bell.

Hugs,

Geneal

Low progesterone can make your breast feel that way. Lyme can cause low hormone levels.

I didn't even think of that. My brain is just not working too well.

I had my "girly" hormones checked and the progesterone was low, but not pre-menapausal or anything like that.

Thanks for the "food" for thought.

Hugs,

Geneal

It can still be the coffee...and I know how yummy it is. that might be the problem, could be hormones too though.

Geneal,

I am lumpy bumpy all over. I had fibercystic breast tissue for several years, but they have doubled in the last two years since lyme.

I also have fibroids. They were very small and didn't cause any problems before lyme.

Fibroids have now trippled, and one is pressing on my bladder.

Who knows? Has lyme encouraged these?

I also have a new 4mm cyst on my woolfian(sp) duct. That is the duct that turns into the vas if I were to be a boy!

They tell me that on most women, they desolve before birth. There are lots of tubles in that area, one becomes the ovarian tube.

I will be interested to see what others have to say.

geneal, yes, please check this out! i've typed before about losing my only sister going on 8 yrs. in aug. 07 at age 41. 32, she had breast cancer 1st time; 6.5 yrs. cancer-free when it went to her liver. BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY since you have your 2 youngins' at home.

i've never drank coffee, and breasts were always like this BEFORE breast reduction surgery eliminating 5.5 lbs.of extra! i'm full of scare tissue, and touching hurts so much!

where you have a mammogram, ask them if they have or WILL GET PADDED FOAM to be put on the top/bottom of breast for mammogram! our local hospital got these; really helped me on my severe scare tissue pain. [group hug] [kiss] [group hug]

I am scheduled to see my Ob this month. Have to get referral from him for new mammogram, etc.

My neighbor reminded me yesterday that I was on progesterone supplements for the first tri-mesters of both of my pregnancies.

I had forgotten all about that.

I miscarried my first pregnancy. My Ob believed this to be related to low progesterone.

I definitely am going to have this checked out. They aren't any cystier (I know this is not a word) than they were at this time last year.

I've lost some weight.....so have my breasts. Whereas I have felt this before, now it it just more noticeable.

Thanks so much for the replies and the information.

Hugs,

Geneal
