I have recently been given an RX for Ketek. Any comments? Recent updates on use for Lyme? I have not been on anti biotics yet for recently diagnosed Lyme. Thanks for any information - success? concerns? interactions? Kate

I had very good results on Ketek. But you should be aware that Ketek has been connected to severe liver damage.
The FDA has just changed the labelling so that it is no longer approved for longer use in respiratory infections, only short-term infections. You should know, doctors don't have to follow FDA approval in uses, most Lyme treatment is treating what is called "off-label."
But your doctor should be monitoring your liver very regularly. You should also talk to your doctor about knowing the signs of liver damage so you know when to call with a concern.
