I treated bart for 12 weeks with a rotation of Rifampin M-Fri, zith on sat, sun, and doxy everyday. I finished 2 months ago-I hope I don't relapse!

Hey Babe,
Everyone responds differently so it's hard to pin down a specific bart treatment. Can take several months to treat in some cases, can repeatedly relapse.
Levaquin and rifampin seem to have a good effect against bart as does other meds.

I have done 4 months of Levaquin, with a break here and there and feel most of my Bart symptoms are gone. Cindy

I never thought I had Bart until I was traveling in India on a pleasure trip with my daughter and mother and got gastroenteritis. They treated me with IV Cipro and my remaining "Lyme" symptoms vanished 100%!!! When I got back to the states I asked my Lyme doc about it and he put me on Cipro & Zithro together and I had less flare each month premenstrually until finally I went symptom free!!! 2 months symptom free and then I got pregnant and have been breastfeeding ever sicne my daughetrs birth but once I am no longer breastfeeding i can't wait to go on cipro again and see if I go symptom free again*)!*)!! I am a feral cat rescuer and have worked volunteer with feral and orphan cats since the age of 12 when I began to volunteer at cat rescue places in Los Anegles- so I have had tons of exposure- and with 6 cats now- still have- !!! My doc was going to take me off all abx at 3 months no symptoms (pre Doc J recds!!) and I was sooooo close!!! When I told my doc I was pregnant his face fell, he looked so disappointed for me, but I am glad, it has all turned out lovely- and he was glad for me, too- but I had mixed feelings too at first- we had planned to have a baby but not so soon*)!*)! I only have one remaining symptom, a left knee flare once a month before my period, but I have to stay on abx or I decline rapidly and dramatically!!! I am very grateful for my recovery.
Still, I can't wait to try cipro again!!!! It was honestly the healthiest I have felt in my whole life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OH- and I was running 8 flights of stairs 3 times a week with no tendon problems but I did get tendon achiness and would be gentle with myself then!!! Best wishes, Sarah
