My LLMD ordered a cardiac profile since I have cardiac involvement from Lyme and used a commercial lab for testing. Two months later I get a notice from the lab stating that Aetna will not pay for homocysteine because it is an experimental test ($200.00) This is insane and I told them so. An appeal is a waste of time.
Did anyone else have this problem and get it resolved? Thanks!

Same problem, same insurance. I did a 2 level appeal and it was still denied. My doctor contacted their Quest representative that the doctor deals with directly and got it waived through the lab.....AETNA I think causes all of my Lyme stress!
