Im struggling with determining what is going on with me, between lyme symptoms, horrible vasculitis-type herx from vanco, which i've now stopped, and yeast issues.
I just feel like its impossible for me at this point to know where to go from here. I didnt realize that yeast could cause so many symptoms and affect your body almost as much as the lyme itself.
Then theres co-infections, which im thinking babesia cold be a culprit, because of the herx symptoms on vanco. I know now that most people here havent been on vanco, because its used mostly as last resort. But, could it cause a herx in babs? my babs type symptoms are-air hunger, pressure in center/left of chest, fast hard beat, low bp, sweats, mostly hands feet.
Im not as lyme literate as i should be. Even though Ive had it 8+ yrs, ive only known 2 yrs(diagnosed with CFS) before. I wish I wouldve found a place like this site before now.
I have been sicker for last 6 months with extreme sensitivity to cold, and I live in Florida! Also the eye probs...not just sensitivity to light and floaters, BUT rooms look dimmer(lights look more yellow than white) and it takes a long time to adjust from light to dark-like from coming inside from outside.
I dont do well on alot of orals because of IBS, tried ceftin and zithromax and tindamax(which is the only 1 of the 3 i can tolerate)and could only do zith and tind for about a week. I havent done doxy, is this hard on your stomach, and what is the average dose. I dont think my LLMD is a bad one(he's one of the only around here and on the ILADS site and others-Dr. C in Tampa, but he's just very aggressive it seems. Many of u seem to do well with the slower therapy.
I know this is kinda all over the place, but I really need to vent and I dont know what my next step is gonna be except to have this picc removed, especially now that im concerned about the yeast.
ONE more thing...I know my diet feeds the yeast...how do u guys do that diet, and any of u with IBS? alot of raw stuff is HARD on IBS.
What kinds if things do u guys eat? (And yes Im on probiotics, but only 1-2 a day of multidophilus chewable)
OK thanks for listening to me....
Ok well thanks for listening.

Chewable? Check to see if it contains sugar!!!

I dont' see the need to pull the PICC line. Why do you want to do that??

Did you stop the zith and tindi because of herxing?? That would be a good combo, I think.

Doxy is very hard on the stomach. Have you tried Biaxin??

Could you ask Dr C to lower your dosage of vanco...or infuse less often??

anti-yeast diet doesn't necessarily mean raw, though. It just means cutting down on sugar (or cutting out completely if you can stand to - makes a BIG difference in my symptoms!), and cutting down on other carbs in many cases.

No, the zith and tind were orals 500mg 2x a day(along with ceftin..same dose i could only do 2 days because of sharp stomach pains) and the zith caused diarrhea..3 x a day...the last day i took it- 10 times that day.

I think the pro-b has 2 mg of stevia. Ok, so I could cut the sugar...but I dont see how I can cut the carbs out. Is the sugar most important?
And just try to limit the bread, rice, pasta, etc.?

Havent tried Biaxin.
ABX: Rocephin 11 weeks
Penicillin VK(orals- stomach probs, didnt take long)
Ceftin/zith/tind(orals-diarhea)
Vanco 4 1/2 weeks-bad neuro herx, vasculitis type symp, nausea, migraine, burning/surging pain in extremities, fast hard heart rate, palps

Thanks Lymetoo!
Just wanted to say thanks for your posts, espec. the one on eliminating yeast. This looks like it wll be helpful, and I'll definitely make some changes, even if I cant be as strict as some of u.
Too few indulgences for lymeies! We cant drink, the drugs we have to take are crappy and cant even eat what u want.PFFFT! What a jip!LOL

I know. It's really NOT FAIR!!!

Just eat more vegetables, avoid corn, peas, carrots [too much sugar] and YES...avoid pasta and white foods like white bread and rice.

And definitely not sugar.

Stevia is A-OK!

I can't add much b/c I'm new here, but I definitely had the light dimming / looking yellow for MONTHS last year. I haven't seen that as a symptom anywhere around the boards. I'm glad you mentioned it -

Sometimes it's a relief to just know you're not the only one.

Good luck
Sarah
