I have never taken a penicillin to treat my Lyme and have been prescribed Augmentin and Amoxycillin by my LLMD with Biaxin.

Please can others who have tried Augmentin and Amoxy let me know your experiences and if it helped??

p.s. I have skin allergy tested okay to take these.

thanks
Emma

Hi Emma,

I have taken amoxy for the past 8 months.

It has helped alot. However, about 5 weeks ago I started malarone (postive test for babs and lots of babs symptoms), and haven't felt great ever since.

My improvement from amoxy was clear up until this time of starting malarone. I started at 3g/day, and am now up to 7g/day. It helped alot in many ways, with neuro-symptoms and overall energy, and joint pain -- up until starting the malarone.

In my experience, it is very good for treating lyme, if you take enough of it. I weigh 135 pounds and I found that the higher dose of amoxy helped me in ways that 3-4 g/day did not.

Important to take lots of probiotics with amoxy, and I find it better to take it twice/day rather than three times/day -- it gives your gut more time to heal and use the probiotics, which should be taken 2 hours apart from the amoxy.

Good luck and keep us posted on your progress! I have also been taking the Buhner herbal protocol.
