I wanted to ask for opinions/answer's. I became symptomatic with lyme in Nov. of 2005 and diagnosed in Jan. 2007 I always hear that the longer you have been sick the longer it takes to get well... Could I have been ill with the lyme alot longer before I became symptomatic which could cause me to have a longer healing time?
It seems kinda weird to me that I have only been symptomatic for 17 months and after 3 months of treatment, I am no better when I see some people who have been sick for ages and start to notice improvement before I can even imagine that word "improvement"

ticks carry other diseases as well. Have you been tested or treated for any other tick disease?

Bryon, I don't believe anyone could answer your question? How long? I remember early on asking the same questions? Please someone, how long?
I thought I had caught it in the early stages, within 10 days of illness from hell. It wasn't until 4 yrs later that I realized there was a connection between the mysterious ailment that had attacked my knees for months prior to everything falling apart.
I've learned that it was more than just on illness going on at one time. It's was a combo of things that fell in line that finally took me down.
You are about 20 years younger than I was at the time (I think you're in 20s). That's a plus for you, being young can help with healing. More is known today about lyme & other vector born illnesses that will be an advantage for you.
Usually it takes a lot more than just meds to see improvement. Improvement can come in short spells. Two hours here, two hours there. 1/2 day here. So don't expect to just wake up one morning and your world is back.
Everyone is different and everyone here has done many different things to help with healing. Don't lose hope and learn patience. The most important thing today is allowing your body everything it needs to heal.
Memphis to some LLMDs in Missouri is not far to travel.
