Hi,

Tomorrow I begin Tinidazole, Rifamphin and Minocycline and was wondering if anyone can share their experience?

I realize we're all different, but am curious what some of you went through.

My doc mentioned trying to get through "it"...realizing that herxing can be pretty yucky at first, I'm ready mentally to do battle!

My biggest fear so to speak is I have Trigeminal Neuralgia-lightening strikes-and that is rather uncomfortable to say the least.

here's my dosages:

Mino - 200 mgs daily
Rifamphin - 300 mgs daily
Tini 1500 mgs daily

Thanks,
tory

Hi Tory!

Fiance has been on this very combo, with good results until he felt like he had plateaued (he's still on Tindamax, and about to start another new combination).

The Mino caused a lot of initial dizziness, but after about 3 weeks, that went away. The Tindamax makes him very tired, but he says he can actually feel it working. If memory serves, he didn't have a big herx with Rifampin, although he ramped up slowly.

Do monitor your liver enzymes with this combination!

Please keep us posted on how it goes for you.

Warm regards,
Aviva

Wow!!!

I have only taken mino and that was for a very brief time (2 days) as it gave me vertigo!!!!

I would start one med at a time.....I learned that the hard way.

Let us know how you are doing.

I am supposed to start rifampin following next LLMD visit and I am a little anxious about it.

At least I know it won't be paired with mino.

Hugs,

Geneal

thanks Viva and Geneal,

I did experience vertigo from Mino and Diflucan, but that was due to a past lesion.

Geneal, I hope you have better luck on the Rifamphin; and I do hope if you must pair it up with something, you won't get dizzy! That is an awful feeling.

Viva,
thanks for posting how well your fiance has done with this combo. I just edited what my dosages are; is this roughly what he was on? I've heard some have had a rough time, so this certainly makes me feel better!
I am on this for 5 wks, Week 3 I will have my liver enzymes checked, and then a trip back to the doctor's office.

I am on this same three drug combo. The only difference is that I am taking 600mg of rifampin rather than the 300mg you'll be taking.

When I started the mino I had dizziness for about a week that did go away.

My liver enzymes have been fine but for the first month or so on rifampin my white blood cell count did drop below the normal range. Although my LLMD cannot be sure if it was due to rifampin, it is a known side effect so it definitely may have caused this.

I hope this combo helps you out a lot!

Tory,

Fiance was on these dosages per day:

400 mg. Rifampin
300 mg. Mino
750 Tindamax

Hope this helps.
Please tell us how it goes!

best,
Aviva

What is this protocol targeting? Bart?

When I see Rifampin, it makes me think Bart is being aimed at.

yes, Aviva it does help, especially because as Lymetoo says "it can knock you through a wall!". Mentally, I will remind myself that your fiance got through this mix!

My doc did mention it could be "difficult" but to try to get through it. [Big Grin]

mtnwoman:
This protocol is used to bust cysts.
I agree that Rifamphin is used for Bart...so, I'm sure it's going to target that as well.

I've had this bacteria for years, had a low CD57 score (21) but, have been relatively healthy! Sounds rather lame, I do have lesions to target etc.

davidx- I've read that after this combo you see good results? It sounds like it's helping you, how long have you been on this protocol?

Lymetoo- I'm going to cross my fingers and hope this works and I can get through it.

Getting your viewpoints has been helpful: Thanks!
