I would appreciate your opinions/experiences regarding the type of symptoms I'm having & my situation.
I only had a weakly positive Western Blot, but my Dr. feels I have had lyme for 12 years. The symptoms flare & never go away completely.
I started on Amox. late October for 4 mos and am now on Biaxin (for 6 wks).
I have numbness in my right foot and a numb feeling along with tingling up my right side - hip, arm, etc. Along with achiness in my joints & muscles.
I feel exhausted and my mood is terrible! I am normally a very positive, energetic person and my flare ups usually don't get me this down.
Do you think this could be a delayed herx to the Biaxin, which I guess means it's working? Or possibly something else.
Has anyone use SAM-e for their 'down' feelings?
thanks!

I hae been on oral Biaxn 500mg for a little over a month combined with plaquenil. I have noticed it brought about some symptoms I never had. Things like elbow pain and increased nausea and headache. Biaxin is alos in the same class of drug as zithromax and these antibiotics can stay in the system as long as 10 days after taking. Zithromax being longer. I have noticed delayed herx reactions with this drug. usually when I would rife, use cats claw, or ceftin I would herx about 1.5 days later after treatment. With this drug I seem to herx later than that and it varies anywhere from 2 days to 4 days. These are really hard to take becuase they stay in the system and when the herx comes it is like there is no looking back, you have to endure it becuase it stays in the system so long.

When I took my first dose of zithro 250mg it put me down for 3 days in a row HARD, this has never happenen with me on any other type of ABX???
