I'm glad this was brought up. Apart from Mangosteen juice, I'm concerned about taking detox products while I'm on abx.
For example, Chlorella sounds good to me, but will it also "mop up" some of the most excellent abx running through my system?
Suffering is rough, but I would rather suffer than risk the abx.
What are the beliefs about being on abx while taking internal detox products?
With best wishes,
canbrave.

Hmmm, good question. Lots out there as far as suggestions.
Detox teas are good and many organic brands have several ingredients in them already so you don't have to figure it all out.
Milk thistle for liver detoxing has been around a loooong time and good!
Magnesium....necessary for anyone with chronic problems...Marnie has excellent info on this!
Epsom salt (magnesium!) baths help but can make you REALLY sleepy!
Garlic...onions...olive oil....
Juicing.(not for the sugar-sensitive!)
Hope more people come along with more info!

Just asked this yesterday, actually and then talked to my llmd tonight about it too. I don't want to add any supplements to my system right now b/c they've made me sick in the past. These are my gentle detoxers now.
Here's what my llmd said:
Water, water, water. Drink it in any form that isn't sugary!
Saunas (my doc says only 10 mins a day at MOST b/c it depleats electrolytes VERY quickly)
Lemon juice in water (I made a pitcher with 5 squeezed lemons, water and splenda)
Epsom Salt baths
Seaweed (d/k about this b/c I'm allergic)
Lymph massages are *very very* good according to my llmd
Detox teas - One detox tea I've tried and LOVE is YOGI TEA DETOX. They make it in a peach flavor too, but I've not tried the peach. The regular tastes good and comes in teabags, so easy easy to make (and non-laxative!!). Also, two of our health food stores carry it, so I think it's pretty easy to find. Another one I tried that was yucky-tasting was Bija. YUCK-Y and somewhat laxative. Tincup has a detox tea recipe here: http://flash.lymenet.org/scripts/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=040193
I couldn't find all the ingredients for Tincup's so I had to buy the pre-made detox tea. Turns out the store bought one has *most* of her ingredients, which made me happy! Most health food stores will have at least one detox tea (the stronger ones may have a laxative effect, so keep an eye on labels).
Watch out for juices - they work but like it was said above, they are VERY sugary!! My llmd said NO JUICES for me.
I didn't care so much about detoxing until I started herxing, then I REALLY cared. Once I started with lemon water and tea, I feel they've taken the edge off the herx, at least!
Sarah Just another Lymie, not a doc. When in doubt, check with your llmd!

I am a big fan of glutathione. I get it from Wellnes pharmacy, it is a prescription compounded supplement.

I would be interested in something where I don't have to take several caps a day. Just one or two. I don't want to do 20+ pills a day. Plus, it's too expensive.
