Good Question... When I got my blood work done a month ago my LLMD said mine dropped too. I have not been feeling well lately I am wondering if the two are related?
My Dr. said he sees this a lot with Lyme patients. He wants to follow it so it stays stable.

IV Rocephin did this to me but it came back up on its own.

A drop in WBC can also be due to a viral infection. Mine dropped to 3.0 (I think--don't have the paper in front of me at the moment). I had a viral infection a few days before. My PCP was concerned about the low WBC. She rechecked it in a couple of weeks and it was back in the low normal range. We both concluded it was from the viral infection.

I second what CaliforniaLyme says. When I used to see a Lyme naturopath (in addition to my LLMD), the naturopath kept telling me that Ehrlichia/Anaplasma affects the WBC - she was concerned because I have both strains.

ditto that meds can cause the drop.
I was lucky to have a series of recent enough pre-treatment baseline counts to refer as tx went on.
My WBC began dropping so significantly with my first abx- high dose- Amoxy- that I had to discontine and gto to mino. It has been an issue with me throughout, and was NOT before the abx.
everyone's different, experiences are difficult to compare....

Currently I am on Mepron, clarithroymcin(sp?) septra, plaq and IM bicillin.
I was taking cipro, mino, malarone, bicillin IM, and plaq.
My levels have been low for a few months now, and I am starting to get concerned.
Thanks for any responses.

getting concerned-
IMO, only your llmd can adequately help you weigh the pros and cons of your specific tx and decide how to make course corrections...
