Because Lyme spirochets have been found in saliva is it okay to kiss someone or will that be passing the disease along? And what about with Babs?

The person I was wanting to kiss is not a Lymie but I am just plotting at the moment anyway. Still have not gotten to the kissing part - yet or even the first date.
Cave what to you think about sexual transmission? Both the LLMDs I have gone to think it is possible.

Thanks Cave and you are right I am female and the person I am doing the planning on is male. I need a good book on Wicca and some of his toe nail clippings.
I am currently knitting a very large butterfly net out of recycled dryer lint. It is for a rather tall man so it could take a bit of time to complete the project.

I got Lyme before I was married, and have been married for 22 years. We do not use anything to protect my hubby from me LOL. He has not developed Lyme Disease.
I know that's just anecdotal evidence, but without research, that's all we've got.
And since I still know three of the other 6 guys I've ever kissed, I can tell you that they don't have it either. So, I think spreading by kissing on the mouth is probably unlikely.

Thank you for that reply - it helps and now I can feel a bit better about finishing up my butterfly net.

My LLMDs do not believe there is evidence to support sexual transmission. That is not to say there couldn't be some evidence of organisms in saliva, semen, or vaginal fluids, but perhaps not the right "type" to cause an infection. This has been seen in other organisms (for instance, malaria requires a certain part of the parasite's life cycle occur in an insect host. Thus, human to human transmission of malaria doesn't occur).
From my on anecdotal evidence, as a man who spent 3+ years having sex without a barrier method with his girlfriend before he was diagnosed with lyme (chronic fatigue etc..), there have been no ill effects on her health.

Well, I am delighted to read these posts. I have long wondered about LD transmission.
