I can't even say that with a straight face!
The dude that said it obviously hasn't been stung! After being stung two times in the past.. and having several other "close calls"... I think I'll take the OTHER BUGS!
In the article below.. great pictures too.. they said..
"While no Florida scorpions are capable of inflicting a lethal sting, those that have had scorpion stings report that it is very painful, probably more so than a wasp sting."
THAT IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT!
After being bitten by nearly everything that can walk, crawl, swim or fly ... I admit there is no worse pain than the sting of a scorpion.
I still say the luckiest day I've ever had in my whole life was the day I found the scorpion in my panties dresser drawer.
As you can imagine.... NOT finding it before I got dressed could have been a total disaster!
OUCH!!!
So bug lovers.. if you want my scorpions.. have at 'em. Just found another one a couple of days ago.. the biggest I've seen yet .. hiding on the door frame right next to the door handle. I tried to catch him.. but with the door handle in the way.. he slipped into a crack before I could trap him in a container.
The next night.. while on the phone... I spotted a scorpion on the ceiling.. just above the same door. Not wanting it to drop in my hair by failing to capture it .. I decided the best route would be to kill it before it nailed me. NOT the way I like to do business.. but if you have to look at everything you touch, walk across, sit on, eat out of, etc.. for even 24 hours.. it can add to your stress level a bit. Especially when you can't see well!
He didn't stand a chance! BUT..
After close examination before slamming him into a zillion pieces.. I unfortunately noticed it wasn't the same scorpion.
Oh well...??? Here little scorpion.. come here. I've got a surprise for you!

I sympathize, TC. Can't believe I haven't been stung myself -- just very lucky! I have plenty of em around here, not infrequently finding them in the house as well. I do find they make fascinating subjects to photograph. Do it with one eye in the lens and the other eye on the scorpion.

I am too glad we don't have scorpions here!!!
They really creep me out!
I think I would die if I were to get stung by one.....The shock alone would kill me!
Yuck.

But for indoors, I think a Magpie would be a very cool pet:
"Magpies will sit on the backs of moose and bison and eats ticks and other parasites that it finds there."

We have scorpions, brown recluse spiders, black widow spiders, and rattlesnakes. We haven't found any of those bugs, at least not knowingly. But, last weekend we had a baby rattler in the house. Yikes!

A magpie? Like Heckle and Jeckle?
I never saw a scorpion and having seen Michelle's picture (great shots, by the way, Michelle) I don't want to.
We seem to get a lot of snakes. (I'm hoping the small lizards are eating most of the other stuff.) Pretty sure the snakes eat the frogs and lizards.
I also don't care to bitten by another fire ant.

My sister has a rattlesnake (N. Cal) that likes to live under the dog's rather large watering tub. I've asked her to try the liquid fence natural snake repellent. I'll post how it works if she gets it.
I don't have pets, so I haven't tried their natural tick/flea repellent either. They also have interesting things to keep deer away.

The Fire ants also eat termites. In Georgia they claim there are 500,000 to 5 million termites per acre. Most people want to get rid of the fire ants I don't. They are good to keep in your yard just becareful where you step.
On another note, fire ants eat ticks then fire ants bite humans. Same thoughts I have with Spiders. There are many people who claimed to have gotten lyme after a spider bite.

OK...so do you get lyme if you injest Bb? Say, apparently, chickens eat ticks as well.
Perhaps the stomach acid kills it off?

I know stomach acid kills Hep C, for what it's worth; you don't have to worry if someone grinds their fingers making potato pancakes. (I do like potato pancakes and applesauce, yum!)
I got bitten by a fire ant in the PT's office.

Eeewwwww!!!
I live in Florida, but did not know we even had scorpions here until seeing this thread. I've lived here for 27 years and have never seen one. I hope I never do. The fire ants (which I am deathly allergic to), termites, giant wolf spiders and Palmetto Bugs are bad enough.
I did almost step on a scorpion once when visiting a friend in Oklahoma.
