Any doctors use Hydrochloric acid?

And I guess the other researcher doesn't like abx to be used longer than 4 months.

My doctor started me on hydrochloric acid but my stomach rebelled. He was not going after Lyme but rather trying to determine if I had enough acid in my stomach since I have leaky gut.

My stomach rebellion is supposed to indicate my acid levels are normal or elevated and does not need the HA supplement.

Was this through IV, or down the throat? In the article, it talks about people having alot of acid in their stomach, but getting well with IV hydrochloric acid.

Had two month followup with LLMD today (by phone). He mentioned Hydrocholoric acid as something my husband should consider.

Has anyone else tried this yet? I must research more, but is this prescription?

It is recommended as follows:

Large doses of "quantum Betaine HIC" are needed. Fifteen capsules three times a day, with food, are required for thirty days.

Thanks.

Bommerang,

You may want to search the board for Hydrochloric acid (HCL) - There was a recent post on this.

Does you LLMD feel that you do not have enough acid in your stomach or is this for something else?

I have not taken HCL

I do take the enzymes Bromelin and Papaya

I thought the hydrochloric acid through IV was to kill bacteria??

That is what one of those articles in the above link was talking about.

It did also mention someone having an acid stomach, but getting well from a bacterial infection by taking the hydrochloric acid IV

I LOVED seeing the LIA- Lyme Induced Autism- update on the think tank- VERY interesting!@!!

And Margie Roswell is fun-!!!

But I wish they would have done a conflict of interest release about the authors in this-
Just fyo "Dr." Jernigan is not an MD at all- he is a chiropractor and is- Dr. David Jernigan, D.C., B.S. is the founder of The Next Generation Wellness Centers and serves as Chairman/CEO of Jernigan Nutraceuticals, Inc.

btw I do believe chiropractors can really help people, but it is not being an MD*!)*)!!

They are not really MDs and I get a bit tired of them trying to pretend that they are. Not that they all do this but enough of them do.
