In what way will a tremendous weight loss effect my lyme journey? Will I get significantly better from the lyme, and why? I know very thi people that have as much trouble as I am having.

I have wondered this question over and over. Anyone have any information to throw my way?

Mary

I can only tell you that when my hubby lost about 20 lb over a very short period of time he felt very ill for the period of the weight loss and for a month or two afterwards. Well, iller than usual, anyway.

I had a similar experience except that I lost less over longer. Neither of us was hugely overweight, just carrying about 20 lb extra.

We think (and the LLMD agrees) it might have been the toxins stored in the fat that caused what kind of felt like a herx (also the 'flu)

We both detoxed a great deal during the weight loss and used liver flushes, glutathione, vit. C, chlorella, and magnesium as well as sauna and very light exercise. I assume these things helped (we'd actually started them before losing the weight, which just sort of happened -- wasn't particularly planned).

Whether weight loss will actually help with your battle against LD I don't know, but I presume it will if managed carefully because of reduced toxin storage, improved blood flow, reduced load on the heart, liver, and kidneys, more balanced blood sugar, etc. etc.

Sometimes weight loss helps just because in order to lose weight you have to improve your diet and increase your exercise level (sometimes from nothing to very little), and I've found that really does make a difference with LD.
