I was wondering if anyone has good info on lyme and neurotransmitters. My "main" 2 worse symptoms I have are a CHRONIC headache and CHRONIC nausea. Also they stay at the same pain level at all times. For instance if on a pain scale of 1-10, if my headache is a 4 then my nausea is a 4 as well...

I got to thinking that neurotransmitters are in the gut and the head so I am wondering if this could be something I should look into...?

I have tried cymbalta for a 4 week trial and it did nothing for me except kill my appetite even more than it was in the first place. When I was first getting sick and GI doctor put me on low dose Triavil becuase my GI tract was spasming alot and my chronic nausea and it seemed to help at first but then I just continued to get worse... Any Input?

Byron-

There was a significant article in the Townsend Letter about Bb neurotoxin some time back. Not sure of the specifics though. The author discussed the main neuromuscular n.t. acetylcholine. However, there are other n.t.'s such as dopamine and serotonin...etc. Then there is an enzyme called cholinesterase which breaks down n.t.'s. Although I have not looked into it, but I'm sure that these are involved in some way with Parkinson's.

Ask Dr C about it. Personally, it's a pricey treatment I wasn't willing to do.

I bet the nausea and headache is your babesia "talking."
