hi guys...i was just wondering if rifampin alone can work for bart, or does another med have to be added to have any effect? thanks

I was doing rif and doxy for 2 mos. switched to zith w rif. Need a break from all. That's not good, but it's just too hard now. Just stopping till I see llnd thurs. lowest of low on rif. Hard times. I think it works better with another drug.

i've tried rifampin with and without other anti-biotics.
rifampin just made me feel terrible every single day, and i never improved no matter what else i took with it.
the best thing for my bartonella has been IV claforan (cefotaxime)... it's made treating with rifampin seem like a total joke!
i know it's hard to get IV treatment, but i think everyone who can should try IV claforan... it's my miracle drug!
