I am going on my third month of Plaquenil and Biaxin and I have had it. This is the third time in the last three months where I become so flu like I can't get out of bed . I can barely talk on the phone because I don't have the energy.
Has this happened to anyone else and is it a good sign or not? I thought over time you should feel better-not worse. The numbness, stinging and burning have become intolerable,as well.
My LLMD doesn't seem to know-says that after time the body starts attacking itself. Please help!

I did get worse before I got better but do not remember how long that originally lasted. Probably three months at least.

Up for more answers.

Though I haven't been on plaquenil and biaxin, my first 5 months of treatment went from bad to worse.
I was on Doxy and Flagyl, Flagyl only three days/week, doxy every day. I started out herxing "only" when on Flagyl. But then it became just one long herx over several weeks. It was awful! I felt so depressed and worn out.

But then, after about 5 months, it changed. And I didn't get the massive herxes anymore.
Unfortunately... it was about time to change abx, and so I am back to herxing again. Though this time I get more good days inbetween.

Amkdiaries; I don't know if this was of any use, but I just wanted you to know that you're not alone in feeling it that way. It is very hard to go through all that. Flares or herxing is the worst!! It is hard on the body as well as on the mind.

Hugs, Sigrid

I would check with your lyme doctor and see what he says. Mine says to back off treatment if herxes get to severe.

I actually had my worst babs herxes on the third month of malarone/zith/bactrim ds combo.

I wish I had continued this protocol, as within ten days of feeling wonderful when I went off,

My babs symptoms returned with a punch.

Hang in there.

I believe I am to go back to babs treatment again next week.

Not looking forward to babs herxes....but looking forward to possibly treating and ridding myself of this.

Hugs,

Geneal
