Granted, I live in hot Dallas, but we are not even close to being hot here yet. I am sweating all the time. My hair is soaked. I don't know why I bother to apply makeup-gone. I'm taking 3 showers a day. Anyone else having this problem? Any solutions?

I'm with you, girl! I'm damp at night, and holy cow, do I sweat during the day.

If I'm resting, I sweat to where my hair is soaked. My armpits are trickling until sundown pretty much. I got out of my car to go see my LLMD the other week - holy cow, even my groin was sweaty from the drive. It wasn't even very hot that week.

And God forbid I actually exert myself and do something like mow the lawn. I tried planting shrubs, but I had to go inside numerous times to wash the sweat off my glasses so that I could see. Sometimes I even sweat in the shower.

Everybody is telling me it is either babesia or bartonella - or both. Somehow I know this is babs. Unfortunately, I've yet to pull a positive, so I suffer.

I had the night sweats. Did one round (3 months) of babs treatment, only to have symptoms return.

Found myself sweating profusely during the day these

Last couple of months, but not really at night.

Just started malarone again (Thursday).

Now I am drenched both day and night.

For me, it is Babesia....no doubt about it.

Hugs,

Geneal

I too am having a horrid time with this. I can soak a bed at such a scarey rate, even when in a freezing air conditioned room.

I recall this mildly going on before my diagnosis and everyone said it was peri menopause or menopause....but I started babesia treatment a little over two months ago (mepron, zithromax and artemesia) and it's been out of control.

If it was just the sweating, I think I'd just live with it, but it makes me feel horrid inside. I wake up all night long about every half hour either burning up or freezing and I'm EXHAUSTED.

I see my LLMD tomorrow and hopefully he will have some advice, but for now, just know that you are NOT alone. This seems to be extremely common with babesia.

Cathy - don't let them tell you the sweats are from menopause. I'm 42 and they've been talking perimenopause and checking my hormones to give me the news from 35 on up.

Last year around this time a doctor had told me I was in menopause - early - but he called it 'normal'. Actually, two doctors called it 'normal'.

I screamed no way at them, pointing out all my other symptoms. Still - I was desperate and I took their Premarin for a short time.

Holy cow did my PAIN go up. I stopped the hormones as soon as I made the connection, and if there even is such a thing as menopause, I've reversed it.

Whatever you do, don't take estrogens with these bugs.

Altho i had a negative babs result, the dr. put me on malarone and the sweating has increased, so i think i do have babs and this is the result. good luck.

Babesia - get the test via Airpark Medical Center. Mentioned as "Fry Lab" on my testing page on my site.

Do you think Fry Labs is better than IGeneX for babs?

I'm drinking tonic water tonight for the quinine - that's how desperate I am.

I'm still trying to figure out why we sweat more with treatment for babs than we do without. Is it die-off? Will the sweating ever stop?

I noticed my sweating slowed tonight with an approaching thunderstorm. This isn't the first time.

I think humidity, temperature, even barometric pressure have a role in this.

I'm a sweater too! I think this was one of my first symptoms for a long time before any other lyme symptoms showed up! I can drench a shirt just sitting still in a 72 degree room. Everytime I go to the doctor or PT and they have to put me on a table or something whenever I get off I leave a puddle of sweat, one doctor I go to... after every visit he asks me, "we'll am I going to have to wash my sheets or did you wash them for me with your sweat?"

I only have night sweats and they just started a few months ago...apparently this is classic babs. I tested neg for babs, but the tests are unreliable. Sheesh. Hang in there. At least you know were sweatin' with ya!
