My head feels like it's 5 times its size, mostly on the right side. This is how it felt years ago when I had walking pneumonia and a double ear infection, but it's not that. It started with numbness on the right side of my face and then went into my right ear, and now this.
I've been on IV Rocephin for 10 weeks now so maybe this is a herx, finally?
Perfect timing, of course, my daughter is getting married tomorrow!

Kawaii,
No as a matter of fact...you should have had these symptoms BEFORE infusing IV ABX...not ten weeks into treatment.
Hey, I know this disease is weird and we all react somewhat differently...
But this is somewhat too, different!
You're sure you did'nt have those swell headed symptoms before IV regimen???

Please call your LLMD ASAP.
It sounds like it is possibly a herx - inflammation in the brain? I get numbness and pain on one side of my head as a result of abx which seems to be viral. Viruses do seem to come out with lyme treatment.
Hope you feel better very soon but the best thing to do is contact your doctor right away.

Hi Kawai
What you are describing sounds a little like head pressure. I did get head pressure bad on IV. It was also like this on flagel.
Head pressure comes from a swelling of the brain casued from a die off and a release of neuro toxins. There are some meds that can help with this but at the moment can't recall what they are.
People seem so different when it comes to herxing. It is normal to get intensified symptoms and to also get a few you never had before. I never had horrible sound sensitivity bad till I was herxing on IV ~ Then it was really bad for about a month or so.
My mind fog feels like I can't think straight, but Not on any drugs. Like in a daze & can't think clearly. Confusion & memory and a blank mind also are problems with my mind fog.
My Mind fog gets worse when I am herxing.
I would make sure to tell your doc how you are feeling. Not everything can be attributed to herxing and it's good to be on the safe side.
hang in there Dana
make sure to talk over everything first with your LLMD.None of the above is medical advice...just my 2 cents.
