Hi guys,

After talking to three pharmacists, I'm a bit worried about taking the amount of malarone 250/100 that my LLMD has prescribed.

He's got me on 6 pills a day. Thats 180 pills a month.. and besides the cost (its putting me in the poor house), I'm afraid that it will attack my liver at that dose, give me a horrible headache and make me so dizzy that I can't go to work.

What did you all take when you were on Malarone? Did anyone take 6 per day? How did you take them? 6 all at once or spread out?

Thanks.

Wow. I do not know how one could handle that much malarone. Everyone is different, but I am pretty sure that I could not tolerate that much. And many folks tell me that I am rather tough when it comes to treatment.

I am only taking one 250/100 malarone each day. And believe me, that amount has done quite a bit.

It was difficult for the first two months, and then I felt much better. I am on one malarone pill 250/100 day for about four months now, and will give it up at about 5 months. I weigh 135 pounds.
And tested positive for babesia, as well as having all the symptoms!

There is one lymenetter who has taken 4 x 250/100 malarone each day, and she seemed to handle it quite well. For me the herxes/adjustments/side-effects during the first two months were quite challenging. Best wishes.

I am on one pill of adult Malarone (half a dose) a day. I am not feeling many babesia symptoms lately if any.

I was on 4 months of Mepron but I relapsed after I was told it was gone.

I take 4 - at one time during the day 3 days out of each week. 6 is what Dr. B mentioned at the H2H conference recently.

I take one/day.

I've heard others taking 2 or 4. There are some taking pediatric doses. I guess each case varies. I tested low level B. macroti, 9 years ago and am just treating it now. (I don't know if that's relevant.)

How is that pulse working for you, Scott? Have you been on it long?
Was Dr B saying 6 daily or pulsed? I'm just curious. Thanks

I take 4 a day along with 1000mg of biaxin.

I am also treating CMV and yeast issues at this time.

The plan is for four a day for 3 months-maybe four.

My husband who weighs about 170 lbs was also one four a day too.

Maybe the dose is dependent upon your weight, but I am not sure.

I weigh 99lbs right now.

Hugs,

Geneal

Wow. Thanks all. [Cool]

I guess I'll call the Dr today and confim the dosage.. than then hang on for dear life.

Personally I'm thinking that my remaining symptoms are babs... So gotta get to it.
