Just wanted to thank you all for the information and support. It was very helpful after a day like today.

Called Infectious disease dr. to see if results from the blood test were back...apparently they were lost so he has to get them redone again.

This might be just as well as now I know it should be sent to that lab in California. I just hope they will do that if I request it.

Told them while I was on phone how he wasn't feeling good...still has a fever and they wanted him to come in.

He said he didn't want to go because they wouldn't help him anyway. It's getting harder to convince him. Can't say I blame him at this point. It was a hard day today.

Again, thanks to all of you.

Kris

Dear Kris,

I hope we gave you a lead in the right direction.

You can call Igenex at (800) 832-3200 and request they send you the blood test

Kit for Lyme disease. It would be best to find a LLMD, but any doctor can sign the order for the test.

Igenex does not file insurance claims. The cost of a Western Blot (IgM and IgG) is 190.00.

These are tests 188 and 189.

You can submit the forms to your insurance for possible reimbursement.

It is worth every penny.

Remember, the results go back to the doctor and not to you.

However, you can request a copy from your doctor.

Hope this helps some.

Hugs,

Geneal

Don't count on a regular doctor being able to read a Western Blot correctly. I had an IgeneX positive test but 2 doctors told me it was negative. This slowed my progress towards effective treatment by more than a year and I almost didn't pursue it.

Post results here for opinions by all means but understand that for the most part, we are lay people and you need to have your husband evaluated by an LLMD if at all possible.

kris, thanks for update!

if you DEMAND they send it to IGENEX, they have to comply with your wishes since you are paying the bill.

if your husband is medicare age and/or on DISABILITY w/medicare payments .... it's FREE to have it done, and IGENEX DOES PAPERWORK for this one exception; MEDICARE!

in instruction i sent you/newbie package; i had a lot of info there about IGENEX; please be sure to read it over good! good luck.

if you are going to have co-infection testing done, have FRY LABS IN ARIZONA do it for $250 vs. almost $1,000 at Igenex. [Wink]
