(Please forgive me, I've been posting a ton of questions lately! You all are so brilliant and experienced, I like to suck your knowledge as much as I can!)
So, I'm confused as to the root of my oh-so-maddening itching problem.
It has become quite severe lately, after I started Levaquin (for bart) and Cat's Claw (for Lyme).
I think it is part of a herx reaction to the change in my meds, but I also know it can be a symptom of a yeast infection.
It always accompanies the worsening of other symptoms, never on its own.
It travels all over my body and there are no rashes. It is the worst on my scalp line.
I have only been on abx for 1.5 months. I am careful with my probiotics, but not really with my diet. I confess I love my pasta and rice.
I did have itching before the abx, but it was never this bad.
My tongue looks normal and I don't have any vaginal issues.
Any thoughts? Does this look like a herx or a yeast infection to you?
Is there anything that helps? Bathing in Epsom salts seems to make it worse.
My LLMD never mentioned yeast issues, but I've grown concerned about them after reading so many posts here.
Thanks much,
Ellie

Itching is one of the most common side effects of levaquin. If you had it before levaquin, it could have another origin but after your levaquin treatment it might have become worse. These kind of itchings are a peripheral neuropathy. Watch out for new symptoms of levaquin toxicity, that pop up for some months after ending the treatment. Hope you get better.
