First let me say that I am sorry I haven't been responding to many threads. I have been battling these headaches for 2 weeks now and it's hard for me to be on the computer.
I took my first dose of Levaquin yesterday. I am also taking Ceftin.
I feel like I am burning up with a fever...I am so hot. My temp is just under 99.
How can I tell if it's a herx reaction or just this Levaquin? There are so many possible side effects to it.
Is it to early see to feel a herx anyway? I took first dose at 3 yestereay and I woke up extremly hot and yucky feeling this morning.
Something better help this headache soon. I am so frustrated.

I have herxed hours after taking meds.
It is possible that your flairs are a herx from the levaquin or ceftin which hits the cell wall form of lyme disease.
Headaches are my biggest complaint and during herxes they become intense, so I feel your pain.
If it gets too hard contact your llmd, otherwise relax through the herx and hopefully it will break soon.

I'm sorry to hear your body is taking the Levaquin so hard.
I didn't herx on Levaquin until the 5th day. Fortunately, it was not as long lasting or as severe as my Rifampin herx.
For my headaches, I take a strong dose of hydrocodone (sp?) and a nap. This is the only thing that can truly penetrate my pain. I would definitely ask your LLMD if he/she has a painkiller that they are willing to prescribe if you have not done so already.
Acupuncture and lots of liquid have helped too. However, I have noticed that sometimes saunas and hot baths can make a headache worse.
Good luck.
