I am experiencing a Nystatin herx. It just cleared but before it was really bad.
Migraine headache on both sides Fatigue with worse chemical sensitivities Mumbling my words and having trouble SPEAKING
I also get a terrible METAL TASTE in my mouth.
When I took diflucan last year I would get this same terrible taste along with headache and dizziness, same symptoms.
I thought it was the DIFLUCAN screwing with my liver. Now I'm thinking otherwise.
LLMD kept saying the metal taste was from the biaxin. Now I dont know what to think.
Is this metal taste common? Does this mean its heavy metals? I know GiGis stance, but I need to get somewhat better before I start pulling.
Just doing psyllium and IP6 now with a little senna.
Doing a comprehensive stool analysis now from doctors data.
Any experiences with this yeast die off stuff? Im used to the BIAXIN herx that makes my name on this board.
That was a shock!!!
Now Im going through the same thing with YEAST???
Amazing. I ignored yeast all this time. LLMD said it was all lyme. Now the lyme is quiet he says based on my last Iginex.

You can have yeast without gas..........correct?

Hi, I can only tell you that Biaxin's "metal taste" is very common. Many experience the metal taste for a short time, others through the duration they are on Biaxin. Take care.

Im still herxing from the Nystatin.
I can only take little pieces of the tablet.
How long is this herx gonna take? In the book the yeast connection Will Crook says that the herx only lasts a couple days with this stuff.
Im just wondering if im really THAT sensitive to these toxins.

Hi,
At one time, I could not take nystatin it was too strong, this was years ago, I worked with a MD and he used candida drops under the tonge, and then went on to the nystatin.
You may need to start off with a small amount of nystatin, or a good idea before taking nystatin, or even now is using the psyllium and bentonite and drinking this in the AM on an empty stomach,
I like it first thing in the AM, then wait 3-5 hours, some wait 1 hour to eat, I like the 5 hour wait, gets the guck out from the intestine and no foud around to interfere, this is what works for me,
and this can absorb the toxins, do this for one week or 2 weeks, and then stop it and do the nystatin, this
will help you not get as sick from the nystatin, the toxins because the psyllium and bentonite will absorb the toxins alot,
you will still have candida dieoff from nystatin but not as much.
It can be done to suit you, however you find best.
Some have to do, 1/2 tablet twice a day and work up, something like this.
How many IU's are the Nystatin tablets? Mine are 500,000 IU's and are called Nilstat.
I like the tablets, and I would like to get the real powder but I dont have it, some said that the tablets are good at getting down to the lower bowel, that is what I read.
Some do both, or whatever you prefer.

The bottle says 500MU....whatever that means.
Anyway I think I will add in the betonite. Im just worried about constipation. However my body did get used to the psyllium.

Make sure you take the nystatin away from the psyllium bentonite.
I would def take it 3 hours away. I like it this way, others take it 1 hour away.
Psyllium and bentonite can wipe out your intestines of good bactiria, I was told, so dont use this mixture too much some say, I found this too.

I understand. Its just so damn frustrating!!!!!!!
I want results quick, but we all must remember especially us chronic lymies that we didnt get sick quick.
Most of us started off with what we thought was the flu and then it got a bit better, but not completely.....then it just lingered and ballooned until its out of control like with me!!!
My LLMD was treating me with Lyme, and then about 2-3 months into antibiotic treatment I became exposed to some chemicals and my MCS became chronic.
Now I'm thinking I'm loaded with yeast. Once my antibody candida test came back high, and recently it came back normal.
I just dont understand. I herx with caprylic acid and now nystatin. So there is something there that I cant ignore.

Before I knew I had Lyme, I had a diagnosis of Candidiasis (yeast overgrowth in intestinal tract) from Integrative Medicine MD, he felt this was the source of my terrible joint pain (years). The stool tests showed I had very high candida levels.
He prescribed various courses of Sporanox, Diflucan, and Nystatin, often in combination, to kill yeast. I herxed INTENSELY and then joint pain was virtually gone for a while. New stool tests showed there was NO candida left (he said "you can't even grow it") Then maybe 6 months or a year later, the joint pain started again. Repeated stool test, still no candida. I couldn't understand that.
Now I do understand -- eventually I was diagnosed with Lyme. My LLMD says it wasn't candida die-off causing my herxes from the anti-yeast meds -- they were killing Lyme. There are studies that Diflucan kills Lyme. I don't think there are studies re: Sporanox and Nystatin tho.
Lucky me, I was treated for Lyme without knowing I had it. LLMD (who is a brilliant science guy and I trust implicitly!) said Candida die-off does not cause herxes. People who herx from Candida treatment may really be herxing from Lyme without knowing they have it.
LLMD just retreated me with Diflucan/Ceftin combo, and I did herx again and I've made another big jump, feeling alot better. (This is my 4th combo of antibiotics.)
I also used Oil of Oregano and Caprylic Acid when I was going through Candida treatment. And I believe I herxed on these as well. Hard to know what causes what tho....

Oh dont get me wrong, I am definitelly herxing HARD from Nystatin.
I cant move after I take it. Litterally. I can take 1/3 of a tab, then I cant get up. Im too weak. Also get burning and brocken feeling in my feet with twitching and spasms. All from Nystatin.
Maybee the nystatin hitting Lyme? If not then its deffinetlly YEAST. I guarantee.
Think it screwed up my sinuses too! Got the LLMD to compound Nystatin nasal spray.
Been taking a hell of alot of Bentonite clay 5 times a day to clean up. Cause I do want to be able to move.
Herxing sucks. It cant be a side effect of the med, cause Nystatin is not absorbed.

Drinking bentonite like water.
Ill keep all you posted. No ill effects as of yet.
Desparate to get the toxins out so I dont herx from the Nystatin.
Tried lemon, doesnt work Saunas are out Water makes me pee alot
Psyllium is nice and I still do it.
Veggies are a +
Toxins make me suicidal!! AHHHH Toxic crap.
Oh Mr. Bentonite will you please soak up my pain and return my mind to that of a normal person with normal problems.............

feeling better tonight.
Have been getting the metal taste though.
Washing it down with some more bentonite and water.
Im in less pain, skin feels better, mood is more stable. MCS to the mold in the house is BETTER!!!!! Not great, not healed.
This has happened before after herxes clear.
Let Us pray.

Still herxing terrible from the Nystatin, just a small amount makes me herx. I had nightmares all last night.
Also to add fire to the fuel the LLMD said that the stool test was done wrong so I need to do it over. NOT!!!!!
Thats was too messy and disgusting to prove what? That I have yeast?
I know I do because I get this terrible herx from the Nystatin, Caprilic Acid and even GSE
So to hell with more tests. Unless this will help my disability then NO.

No, you don't need a test to prove that you have yeast.
Is your diet free of sugar, etc? I know that's hard. I've fallen off the wagon too!!

Today I worked up to a full tab!'
I actually had pizza today with not to bad side effects. I think the nystatin couterbalanced the yeast feeding off the flour.
I must say that at the first small bit of the nystatin tab that I took this morning I couldnt move again, I also had some foot pain and depression. But after that I said to hell with it and took MORE!
It seems that when I took more, I was able to tolerate more. So small amounts I cant tolerate, but larger amounts I can.
There is hope!!!!
God bless, I hope this post can help others and give me the much needed hope after being in this hell of a disease for 15+ years.

Im still waiting (kinda) for the throwback, or the herx, or whatever.
I had this with doxy 2 years ago, I had a small herx, then I felt great for 2 weeks. Really %90 healed. And then I just crashed! I felt like I had sun burn all over my body, very depressed in pain etc....
So now im thinking that either the doxy was lowering my immune reaction to the borrelia therefore making me feel better, and then after 2 weeks the yeast took hold and I crashed again.
There is evidence that the Doxy does infact act even in small amounts on the immunes system T-Lymphocyte and Cytokine reactive proteins there by down regulating cytokine reactions.

Whew, just woke up.
I took a full tab of nystatin before and passed out (again).
I also got the nystatin nasal spray today so I have been doing that too!!!
Just drank some psyllium and senna to push the toxic crap through.
Uhhh, this damn moldy yeast is no JOKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
