Hello, my LLMD tested me for these viruses via MDL lab. All the IGMs came back very negative (like 0.01 where 1.00 is considered positive). The IGGs came back positive thought. I did have mono as a kid and am I right to assume that positive IGG for these viruses only signifies that there was past exposure?

Yes, that's correct. IGG is past exposure, not active infection.

Depends on how high the IgG is. Dr. Montoya at Stanford medical center feels that high IgG levels may indicate active infection.
I have high IgG levels of EBV and HHV-6. Dr. Montoya feels that it is likely I have active infection of both viruses, and he would like to treat me with Valcyte.

do you know how high the IGG levels have to be?

If you read the "testing" link at the top of the page at www.hhv-6foundation.org it does give some idea of what they consider high.
The lab that they used is Focus Diagnostics lab in CA.
My story (and lab results) can be found at the "patient" link at that same web site.
Click on "hhv-6 and testing" (or words to that effect). My post name is Timaca, and my post is "My viral test results".

My test uses a different scale. It says HHV-6 IgG ODR=4.94 (1.09 or more is positive).
EBV IgG ISR=4.51 (1.09 or more is positive)
Any idea how high these are or how do I convert the numbers to 1:xxx titers?

No, I don't know how high they are (except that they appear high) and since a different scale is used, I don't know how they compare with Focus Diagnostics.
You might contact Dr. Montoya at Stanford University Medical Center since you live in the area and see if he still needs participants in his study.
Another idea is ask your primary care doctor to test you at Focus Diagnostics, and see how you compare then with that reference range.
