I did two searches, and ive found conflicting info on what is good liver support.

I know milk thistle is not.

I was thinking of NAC....but read this feeds yeast.

Would phoscholine be enough?

thanks

Don't know much about this but a Lyme doc told me glycine. I took it for quite some time. Think I'll go back on though it was a bit hard to find in health food stores.

Milk thistle kills me and NAC moves heavy metals to the brain so that kills me too.

But I sure do think the liver needs all the help it can get on Malarone.

I use Milk Thistle? What is wrong with Milk Thistle my LLMD said it is no problem to take it while on Malarone.

I also was given Tibetan herbs by my Tibetan doctor that really improved the shape my liver was in.

Acupuncture also helps your liver. I do acupuncture at least twice a month and if I had more money I would go every week.

My naturopathic doctor has me taking NAC to remove metals from the body. Not just as a chelator but to move them out of the body. Could you give a reference to NAC moving metals to the brain please.

Thanks,
Terry

Husband's LLMD recommended alpha-lipoic acid as liver support with malarone.

I believe the recommended dosage was 1200 mg/day.

Not to disagree with anyone's LLMD, but milk thistle with malarone

Can lower the effectiveness of the malarone.

Malarone is pretty much inert as per my LLMD.

Not likely to cause an allergic reaction or elevated liver enzymes.

Of course this is not an absolute.

I take four malarone a day, along with 900mg of valcyte (known to elevate liver enzymes),

and luckily have not had any liver issues.

Mind you I also have a history of hepatitis A as well as pancreatitis.

Hope my luck holds in this department.

Hugs,

Geneal
