I was doing so well there for 3 to 4 weeks -- I was feeling well and wasn't having any pain or barely any dizziness or the constant feeling like I'm in another world or about to die.

But now it's back and it's so depressing. It may be from the new medicine I am taking, which is the generic of Biaxin (Clarithromycin) though I did feel okay the first couple of days I started taking it.

I am sick of the aches and pains I am constantly having. I'm also sick of feeling good one minute and feeling extremely ill the next, like I may just faint over. For a good while there (4 or so weeks) my joint stiffness in my knees had totally disappeared and I was beginning to think it would stay away, and now it's back. [Frown] I guess I'm just having a herx.

I just felt like ranting, I guess. I'm so sick of feeling like I need to just lay down all the time. Even though laying down doesn't always help.

I'm also having other problems with my health such as bleeding mid-cycle, and pain in my abdomen, so that's really angering and depressing me as well. It seems my body is always against me.

I hear ya!! Lyme disease is so rough on the phyche because we begin to feel better and then get "shot down" again!

Many begin their serious herxing on day 4 of a new med. Is that true for you??

I have been on Biaxin/Plaq for 3 weeks and just started my herx. No fun...Just think of all the bugs dying and maybe take an epsom peroxide bath

best wishes, Melissa

Yes herxes suck!

But just try to remember you will get through them and then you will have more and more good days.

Hang in there [group hug]

I know where you are coming from...herxing feels like such a let down. Try to remember though that something is being killed off when your not feeling well. Your body is telling you that it is fighting.

I have been in treatment for over a year. I never really had a hard herx. Let me tell you...I just had my first bad one. It lasted for several weeks and I had the worst head/neck pain of my life.

I felt the same way you do when it happened. Now, for the past two days I have had no headache and only minor aches.

I am hoping my body kicked some spirochete butt during that awful time. I am gearing myself up for next months herx. I have alot of emotional stuff going on when I herx...so I have to remind myself that I am not crazy and I come here to get support.

I hope this lifts for you soon. Try to remember for every pain your feeling another one of those little ________'s (fill in curse word here) are being killed off. [Mad]

Here is to a better tommorow..kit [group hug]

Yep! The herxing did start somewhere around the 3rd or 4th day after starting new meds.
